Almost 4 months post laparoscopy

hi all, I had my laparoscopy on 17th July this year and my pain never went. I’m now almost 4 months post op and my pain has been getting worse for the past few weeks, to the point I’ve had to start taking oramorph again. The pain seems to be more severe than pre op, affecting my legs even more now. Any tips for pain management or ideas on why?

Hi, I had my lap 1st August. I’m still having daily pain and flares which don’t shift with tablets. I also have Adenomyosis so ive put it down to that. Do you have Adenomyosis also?

No, only had an endometriosis diagnosis, not even a mention of adeno😫

Sorry to hear that. I’m in a similar situation. I had surgery in January, and my pain has got worse since. I have adenomyosis which I’m now pretty convinced is the cause and am wondering about having the hysterectomy I refused last time to see if that helps resolve the pain / bloating, although my consultant says there’s no guarantee it will.

I’ve started taking pregabalin as my pain specialist believes it’s now become predominantly surface nerve pain. It’s helped a tiny bit, but not a huge amount.

I'm sorry to hear about your pain. It's all too common unfortunately. After my first excision surgery I had a huge relief, almost immediately, and now I'm four surgeries in and I'm still in pain but after the hysterectomy I definitely have noticed a reduction in it. However I did have adenomyosis and that's predominantly what I think was causing the pain. They don't always tell you about the adeno, I didn't find out until years after my first surgery. I am living in the hope that one day I will be off these pain killers. I hope you will get some relief too x
