Why are you driving ?

Contact your doc regarding numbness but you shouldn’t be driving and should be resting

I plan to rest as of now I’m a very stubborn person and if I feel okay to do something I won’t think twice trust me I will as of now the pain was horrendous last night my own fault of course but will be easing on myself now

Hey, I would defo recommend to go see the doctors too. I would also recommend to not drive. I think rest is better maybe it’s a case of overdoing it. I’m 2 weeks out of surgery and only just went out 2 days ago. The body goes through a lot in surgery and the cells need to reform and recoup x

Okay brill, if they haven’t got anything soon I would recommend to go to the pharmacy they can prescribe antibiotics now if you need them so 👍 x

I would also try to take it easy. I had my lap 2 weeks yesterday and yesterday was the first time I went out for a proper drive of 30 mins. I popped to the doctors 10 days after my op but that was only round the corner. You may feel ok in yourself but your body needs to rest. I didn’t leave the house for about five days and then only went for a small walk around the block and being a passenger in a car was too painful (and stressful when going over speed bumps!)

I’ve read that sometimes your cuts can itch when they heal but itching is also a sign of infection so keep an eye on them. See your doctor about the numbness or anything that seems abnormal. It’s a bit boring but try to rest for a while longer if you can 😊

I definitely won’t be driving for a while I’m the type of person who is so impatient and won’t listen I can be very stubborn so I believed I was okay in myself to go out wow how wrong was I I felt worse than ever last night but I think I might go to the doctors just the belly button cut is really stinging still

Hello, I had my surgery 6 weeks ago and just like others said - you need to rest a lot during the first week after op, I didn't leave my house for the first 5 days and was taking it easy, got back to work after 10 days but I sit in front of the computer most of the day so it was OK although my bellybutton was still very irritated. Even now it's really sensitive when I touch it. If the numbness in your lip doesn't go away - you should visit the doctor.

Hi I'm 5 days after my lapro diagnostic surgery and it sounds like you have rushed back into daily activities too fast. You should of been advised to wait around 1 week to before driving again due to moving around too much or sudden movements and you could injure yourself and it will take much longer to heal properly. You shouldn't be on your feet much either i was advised you can walk around house around 4 times a day to stretch legs and again 30 mins after each meal. You must rest and recover properly for 1-2 weeks untill you feel fully recovered.

My stitches get a kind of burning sensation sometimes but only lasts a second or two. I would mention it in your follow up appointment though have you had a follow up yet? but please take off more time to rest up and recover from your surgery.

Best wishes xx

I’m basically all better now Thankyou for the advice though hope your feeling okay? My follow up is in June the said it’s normally 6 weeks after op that they would see me I also received a letter stating they didn’t find anything. the only issue I do have is I have an infection in my bellybutton that they gave me antibiotics for that I had finished and I still have it it’s no where near as painful but still really red and icky lol so watch out for that good luck with everything xx
