Laparoscopy with amenorrhea

Hello - I'm wondering if anyone can help me figure something out about my laparoscopy. I have my first surgery to diagnose endometriosis in July after being referred last year for extreme pain during bleeds.

My worry is that I haven't had a period since last September. I have a history of hypothalamic amenorrhea which might be due to endometriosis but also likely stress, and I'm wondering if, without a period, the potential endometriosis tissue might not be there at the moment as the hormones that instruct the lining of my womb to thicken and shed aren't firing.

Not sure if anyone else has experiences of having laparoscopies when they've not been having periods or if I should delay the surgery while I focus on maintaining a more regular cycle?

Before my excision surgery in February, I hadn’t had a period in about 17 months thanks to the Mirena Coil. Despite this though, I still had more Endo than previously seen!

Just had a routine laparoscopy yesterday after not having a period for over a year and they still found some. It's so easy to feel insecure about getting support for endometriosis but so hard to get appointments for help. Either your laparoscopy will find some or it won't but by the sounds of it it will and either way your operation will take you another step forward in your treatment. Hope it goes well if you need anyone to talk about it with then shoot here and a book called Private Parts can be quite useful as a reference book for all things endometriosis in the UK in terms of NHS treatment and what to expect. Big love! Hannah
