Bleeding for holiday

Hello everyone,

I have posted on here before, in summary I am 39 years of age, on waiting list for a Hysterectomy hopefully in the coming months. My symptoms are pelvic pain and heavy bleeding, currently managed via low dose of Provera. I have tried Norethisterone but experienced side effects including weight gain and hot flushes.

The Provera isn't perfect, I have had severe breast pain and bloating, which is why I am currently taking a very low dose (5mg every other day). I hope people here understand, in my opinion these hormone medications are not great for long term use and I have been prescribed over a year.

My question today is - can anyone help advise me how to reduce my heavy bleeding? I am going on holiday at the end of the week (for my 40th birthday!) I am looking forward to it, but the bleeding came back very bad last night. I am wearing pads/period pants and I have some tranexamic acid medication which I intend to use.

I don't have a formal diagnosis yet beyond "dysfunctional uterine bleeding" but it is suspected endo or adenomyosis. Do people thing that the tranexamic acid will help while I am away? I am too scared to increase the Provera or take the Norethisterone, even for a week.

Thankyou in advance 👍

I have this problem and gone on many holidays bleeding, I would start taking the tranexamic acid now to start reducing the flow and also throughout your holiday xx
