asking about heavy bleeding

Hello

I was diagnosed with endometriosis in November and I was bleeding heavily, doctor prescribed (provera and Tranexamic acid). After taking these medications, my bleeding got heavy with pain, then the doctor changed it to Prostap injection with a tablet called Tibolone. Now after one week of these medications I still have bleeding with too much clotting. Please does anyone has experienced such symptoms?

Thanks

Hello yes I have severe bleeding which comes through my pad, pants and jeans. It’s absolutely soul destroying and stressful to say the least.

I am on menefemic acid along with northisterone to clot the blood and to make me stop bleeding so heavy. These 2 tablets when taken together seem to work for me. Have you ever tried them together?

I have endo and adeno.

Sorry that you go through the same thing 🤢🤮

thanks for sharing your experience. No I haven’t tried those medications. But I have same issues that you had. I don’t know if I can try these tablets after injection!

hi when I started decapeptyl, which is similar to prostap, and tibilone (add back HRT) I had immense bleeding with large clots for about a week I think. It did eventually stop though once my ovaries shut down. These injections are like chemical menopause and essential shut down your ovaries but to begin with there is a surge in the hormones and your ovaries are technically overreacting.

I hope it settles for you soon but if not follow up with your GP/consultant.

Morning lovely we could be gyno twins. I am currently on continuous 5mg provera daily to stop horrendous bleeding. It has been dreadful. At first I just bled and bled on the provera (I take estrogen gel too) and then suddenly after 2 months of heavy bleeding, it stopped. I haven't flooded since. Provera clears out your womb lining which is why you bleed so much at first. Then it settles but it takes time. However, you can't take provera for ever and my surgeon wants me to go onto zoladex which is the same as prostrap but has a thicker needle. I will be on add back HRT but I want to be on utrogestan and estrogen gel again as I'm sick of synthetic progeston as it makes me put on weight rapidly. You will bleed on prostrap at first - some repirt heavy bleeding for up to 3 months then it settles. 3 months seems to be the magic number in gyno. Keep going and hopefully your symptoms will slow down and you'll feel better soon. How old are you if you don't mind me asking?
