6 weeks of heavy bleeding

I’m at a bit of a state at the minute and any suggestions are welcome. Long story short year ago came off everything to give my body a break stopped Zoladex Mirena coil came out. Great until 6 weeks ago pain is back worse and heavy bleeding so bad I’m doubling up on protection and having to change in night. GP has tried norethisterone didn’t work & tranexamic acid which has slowed it down but finished last ones yesterday & started bleeding again today😩 think I’m going to have to call GP again to see if there’s anything else they can do. Has anyone else had this issue?

Just so you know you don’t usually need to break on the Mirena it Dosent change your hormones they stay the same it only stops bleeding.

Yes I am aware, after years of having the Mirena and Zoladex I wanted to give my body a break from everything but thanks for your reply 😄

Hello 👋🏻 maybe you could have the coil put back in if being off everything has had an adverse effect. It must be so horrible for you bleeding so much. I understand wanting to give your body a break, but it appears you are suffering so much more now. Hope you get it sorted. ☺️xx

Hello

I bleed so much too often for months at a time. It’s tiring isn’t it. Just wanted to say you are not alone, you will need to check if you are anaemic too?

I can’t offer any advice but will watch your thread xx

I get iron tablets. Do you get the same? My go won’t give me a transfusion of iron but I have read on here that lots of people have had one x

Yes I take iron tablets. Not taking them at the moment but no doubt I’ll be anaemic again by they time I get to have another blood test. X

I read some articles a few days ago on The Mirena Crash. Worth googling.

If you are losing a lot of blood you may become anaemia. Worth getting your blood tested

My mum was bleeding for 9 weeks during menopause and needed an emergency blood transfusion.

The best advice is to see your GP again

Good luck.

*update* the bleeding has stopped finally and naturally I think!! I have a stock of TMX for next month and thank you for all your replies. To be honest I think this forum kept me sane😄
