pregnancy post surgery

Hi everyone,

Curious peoples’ experiences getting pregnant without ART post laparoscopic surgery? Especially for those that started with low amh levels and who had one endometrioma removed. Weighing whether we should freeze our eggs before surgery or not.

Thanks!

Hopefully a positive post that will give you some hope here. I had a laparoscopy in May 2021 after 4 years of unexplained infertility. Never had a positive test and we were told we'd need IVF. AMH was at the low end too. Id had a previous laparoscopy in 2016 and was told because my endo was in POD and on ligaments and not on my tubes it wouldn't affect my fertility.Anyway, same result after my lap on 2021, told I had some "spots" on one ovary and again in POD and ligaments but because my tubes were clear it wouldn't have been the reason for our fertility issues. You can imagine my surprise when I conceived naturally the very next cycle!! Shock doesn't begin to cover it!

Anyway, all went well, pregnancy went very smoothly and we have a happy, healthy 9 month old, sometimes I still can't quite believe it!

I didn't have endometrioma on ovaries but I'm convinced the endo caused inflammation which meant conception and implantation just wasn't possible. The lap must have helped make my uterus a more receptive environment. At least that's what I'm taking, no one seems to know for sure which is the most frustrating thing about endo, the uncertainty!

I hope that's been helpful to hear. I thought I'd need ART but didn't so hopefully the same for you. I was 33 for my lap and 34 when baby was born if that helps too x

Hi Twosugars- thank you for sharing your story! Super helpful to hear your positive outcome and the timing of everything. Got some positive news this morning regarding follicle count so hoping for a positive prognosis in an upcoming appointment I have. Appreciate it, again.
