Returned pain after zoladex fed up and so deflated

Hi all,Have never used a forum before so am new here.

Am sorry to hear of so many of you also struggling.

I was prescribed 6 months worth of zoladex injections back in June to help diagnose adenemyosis aswell as my already diagnosed endo. Unfortunately I made the decision to stop after 3 months as the side effects were causing health issues non gynea related. Whilst on the injections all pain had subsided and I felt half normal again. (Aside from the constant hot flushes) I'm now 2 months since my last injection and have just had my first period. Heavy and excruciating. I also suffer with pain around ovulation timings and this has quiet honestly been the most painful I've had it. I also appear to look 7 months pregnant and am even finding it painful to sit down. Has anyone else found the same occurance?

I'm fed up with going too and from my drs and specialist.

My next option is a hysterectomy but at 32 I'm torn between having to choose between debilitating pain or absolutely no way of even trying/successfully completing my family 😔

Feeling deflated and so fed up.

I find myself so envious of other women who sail through not having this condition.

hi Geeshirra I’m sorry to read this.

I stopped for the same reason and have had a lot of period pain since- also awaiting hysterectomy but have made the decision not to go for it, since coming off Zoladex I’ve changed my life style (including reducing sugar, alcohol and caffeine consumption) this is SO different for everyone but that and a good power walk every morning has helped me so much, it may not help you but I just wanted to pass on something that may help even a little. We made the decision to adopt to start our family which is been equal measures tough and brilliant. I’m don’t know anything about your life so just wanted to see if any of these would help at all, from what I’ve read periods will settle hopefully x

Hi Geeshirra

A warm welcome to the forum - it's lovely to see that lucymadeline23 has reached out to you already with support. Along with the forum we also have face-to-face support groups and you can find out if there's one in your area here: endometriosis-uk.org/find-a.... If not, we also have an online support group where you can discuss endometriosis and the issues you are facing with other sufferers.

Sorry to hear that you've been in a lot of pain - I'm not sure if you've been on our website but you can download our Endometriosis Treatment Pack that has lots of advice about different pain relief option. You can download it from endometriosis-uk.org/pain-r...

Having been through fertility treatment due to endometriosis myself, I totally understand how heartbreaking it must be to have to decide whether or not to have a hysterectomy and the implications for expanding your family. Have you had a second opinion to see if there's any other treatment that could be an option, before needing a hysterectomy?

Take care - wishing you all the best x
