Zoladex and pain

Hi,

I was confirmed with endo January 2019, since then I have had provera tablets and zoladex injections.

Since having the injections I have found they really help but start to wear off after about 3 weeks, the last one I had was a 3 month one and about 9 weeks in I can feel it starting to wear off. I am wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this?

I have a dull ache constantly and back pain that just stays all the time I'm wondering if this is something others have? If so, any advice.

My last problem is my skin! It's so bad when the hormone injection wears off and any help on controlling this would also be a big help!!

TIA.

I could not get on with the three month one it wore off too quickly so from then on stuck to the monthly. I tried to schedule my appointments a little bit earlier than the month end to keep it topped up.

Hi. I also have lower back issues, a radiating feeling that goes through the lower body, legs and makes you feel super tired. It is nerve related so pain killers will not touch it. It is known as sciatic endo. I hope this helps x centerforendo.com/can-endom...

Hi I was on the zoladex for 2 years and at first they really helped but after about 12 months the pain got gradually worse, I came of the zoladex and opted to have surgery which helped for about 6 months so I decided to try the pill (Yasmin) this was okay for about 2 years but then the bleeding started so after trying numerous other pills I finally gave up and was prescribed provera 10 mg which helped with the pain but then the bleeding started again so upped the dosage to 15mg, I was on this for another 2years but have stopped taking it as I'm now 46 and should be hitting menopause soon as they say you take after your mum and she was 47 when menopause started. You may need to up the dosage of the provera to see if that helps with the pain I hope it does.

Hi,

I have tried nearly everything I think!

I got surgery last January and that did help for a short time but it started again about 4 months later so I was started on provera, I was taking 10mg 3x a day and this did help but it was making me so angry and headaches I couldn't cope with it. So when I was started in zoladex I started with 3.6 dose I think every month, but found it was wearing off after about 3 weeks so my gynae suggested having the 10mg dose for 3 months and I'm about 2 months in and it's definitely starting to wear off? For all the symptoms, bad skin, headaches, sore back and a dull ache pain in my lower stomach.

I'm not sure what my next plan will be, I'm hoping that someone has a suggestion because I think I've done all the options! I was on the pill for about 5 years before my diagnosis but I also struggled with it making me angry so I want to avoid this as much as I can. I'm only 25 so hopefully will find a solution soon!

Hey.

Yes I have stage 4 endo and had decapeptyl injections (similar time zoladex) and with me it wears off after 3 weeks.

For skin I ordered 10% benzoyl peroxide (oxy10 was best) and it really helped massively.

Never had bad skin in my life before this.

Best wishes xxx

You’re welcome! It takes 1-2 weeks to work but if you apply a small amount morning and evening followed with a gentle moisturiser it makes skin really clear xx
