Hi, I've been given an appointment for my first laparoscopy. I was on the cancellation list and have had a month's notice but won't be seeing anyone in Gynae dept until the day of the op. I've read many people talk about having a lap AND hysteroscopy to check their fallopian tubes. Is this done as standard? I had assumed it was but now I'm worrying it might not be and will be another procedure done separately in future!

Hysteroscopy standard during Lap?
I had a hysteoscopy in my lap, but that’s because the ultrasound showed a possible polyp and I also have a thickening on the endometrium. Weirdly no polyp was found but an mri has later showed possible adenomoysis so not sure if that’s what was seen 🤷♀️
Thank you for replying. It's all very interesting how these things turn out. I had 2 myometrial cysts in my first ultrasound which got me the referral to Gynae, which hinted at possible adenomyosis, but they have never shown up again on the many ultrasounds I've had over the following 18 months and now they just expect endometriosis. Best of luck to you with it all!
no it’s not usually standard. Have you already signed your consent form?
When you sign your consent form it’ll say exactly what you are having. It’s usually a diagnostic laparoscopy +/- proceed
It’s not standard, no! My first lap was just that, my recent lap included a hysteroscopy because of unexplained bleeding.
