Has anyone else had both of these done at the same time? I have my surgery date through for 6th January.

What was your recovery period like? Anything I should know in preparation?

Hello! I had both done last Thursday and think that things went quite well. Recovery itself for me has been far less painful that a period/the lead up to a period. I asked the same question just before my procedure so pls def look at the helpful responses I got on my profile! In brief:

-pillow to hold over incisions for the journey home

-oversized clothing to avoid waistbands digging into incisions

-snacks for post surgery

-peppermint tea for bloating

-stock up on pads as you’ll have light bleeding after/leak fluid. I also happened to start my period exactly a week later so it helps to have a massive stash of pads at home

I would also add to get some laxatives. Nurses said I could be constipated as the pain relief during and after surgery would result in it and that couldn’t be more accurate. Let’s just say in my experience of this all, the constipation has been the worst part of it so I hope that eases your mind!

Good luck xx

Hi, if you have a look through my old posts I think you’ll get some good advice. I had these two procedures done at the same time and good lots of good advice on here. You’ll have to scroll back a bit! Good luck hope all goes well. X

I had both of these and a cervical ecteopian cauterised at the same time. Yotoms advice is spot on but I also have posted about this procedure this month if you want to have a gander. Best wishes and good luck xx

I had both with cervical cautery, biopsies, coil placement and endo removal, definitely listen to yotom and get some laxatives, I took senna tablets for probably just over a week. Post op pain wasn't too bad but going to the loo was not a fun experience 😂 hope everything goes well for you, also dunelm sell long hot water bottles for about £12, mine was amazing so maybe worth getting one of those x

Thank you for the advice, I'm beginning to prepare now so I do have a couple of things I might get on this advice, in particular the laxatives! I wouldn't have even thought of that!
