i've had a hysteroscopy a couple of years ago, they were looking and checking and took biopsies, i also had my mirena fitted, i was awake for that and it wasn't painful at all, a little cramping for the mirena that was it.

i had my lap three weeks ago, i was sterilised and had a ablation done too, no treatment for endo as they said too severe :( but i would allow at least two weeks, i suppose it depends what work they do whilst in there, i had no endo treatment but i was still sore, i imagine if they do lasering it might be a bit more uncomfortable, i still dont feel right yet, but i think its because they havent treated anything so i'm pretty much in the same position as before, the actual lap and procedures were fine, no problems totally over them but just my usual daily pain has become worse - good luck, lets hope you get some answers xx

Hi I had a laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and dye put through tubes. The hysteroscopy is a camera put up your cervix but they do not make any incissions so is not invasive just a way of looking inside womb whereas lap looks outside womb and around all your tummy. They took a biopsey so I was told not to use tampax for a month while I heal inside so there's no risk of infection. I had spotting after but nothing until my period then felt s little tender but more pain in tummy from the lap! As they can do a hysteroscopy while your awake it is not major surgery but as your having a lap its best to be asleep and not know anything about it!

I had a week off work and then been suffering with pains more in my legs than tummy after op so taking meds and can work but still healing, and today I'm finally feeling more normal. Today is 2 weeks and 4 days since op! I was supposed to just have diagnostic so was told one week to recover but as they lasered some away I think that's why its taken longer. Don't rush back to work if you don't have to I ended up with horrid cold at weekend from being run down and spent most of weekend asleep to recover.

Good luck and don't worry its all very straight forward and the incissions are tiny! X

Well maybe it was because they took biopsy I was told at my pre op ! My sister in law had same op but has scar tissue from c section not endo but had both precedures and a biopsy and was told same. I didn't know about biopsy until after but may have been on notes! To be honest was feeling sore so wouldn't have wanted to anyway as came on the week after op.

Ye I had biopsies took at hysteroscopy too, had my mirena put in at same time and was already on norethistone and had to stay on it for another two weeks to try to let coil settle, so maybe they thought no need to tell me as wouldn't be bleeding anyway, plus no pre-op for the hysteroscopy as no anasetic for it - I just find it weird how different info is given or lack of info, it's all quite un nerving really - it's driving me crazy now not being allowed to wear tampons, pads only due to the ablation, I was on my period at time of lap, didn't stop bleeding after lap and then my period again on Monday, it feels never ending lol xx

I've just checked leaflets they gave me and it says on laparoscopy leaflet to use sanitary towels not tampax after op for initial bleeding but nurse told me at pre op for the first month after! So maybe its the lap not hysteroctopy and I just got confused but if your having both than make sure you buy some sanitary towels! Hope that sort of clarrifies! X x

I know it is frustrating I had same procedures as sister in law but when we were chatting were given different leaflets and some different info at same hospital! She even got endo leaflet incase they found it and I didn't even though they expected it! I hope the bleeding calms soon its not nice I bought some of those wet toilet wipes to help feel a little fresher. X
