A bit for a crazy question but does anyone else get really bad rib pain especially during the night that wakes u up? It happens most of the time and feels like someone or something has been crushing my ribs! Its mostly on my right side and most of the time I could just cry out in pain ( but very good at not now 😂) could this be another side affect of having endo? I'm seeing my specialist in just over a week so I'll be asking her the question too, hut I thought I would get more and better answers for u lovely ladies 😘 thanku in advance xx

Yes I have left rib pain 24/7 - prostap helps most my pain but not my rib pain, sometimes I can't even stand clothing or bedding on it. 3 years and still nothing that helps, please let me know if you find anything x
Hi, mine is right side but most worse pains are that side! I'm on decapeptyl injections monthly, they help with the worse endo pains hut like u said not the rib pains! But I am finding that the injections dont seem to be working like they used too! I'll keep u posted to what they say Xx
I never even thought to put it to Endo... I'm under investigation for mine, they thought gallstones because of the level of pain and waiting to hear back from MRI, let me know what they say as I'd be interested if they're related. At least it would be an answer
That is all too familiar. I was diagnosed with widespread endometriosis including on the diaphragm. I'd suggest you look up the symptoms of endometriosis on the diaphragm / chest and see if they fit.
It's like a very deep seated raw pain, really unpleasant.
I found it got even worse in the week leading up to a period. It is a very exhausting pain.
I would definitely mention this at your appointment.
Many people suffer with rib and chest pain due to endometriosis and it is almost always towards the right side or near the middle although not exclusively.
Via laparoscopy - however, it couldn't all be excised. Ongoing I have Zoladex injections and Anastrozole tablets. I've had multiple surgeries involving excision.
Hi, thanku for ur reply, I did think this might be a reason, but when I mentioned it to my gp they didnt really know what to say 🤷♀️ I think sometimes I know more then they do 😂 it is exhausting admits one thing after another with endo! I'm having such a crap week too and being tired and in pain dont go well at the best of times!! Xx
Same the gp sent me for a scan and nothing! Hopefully my endo specialist will have better answers 🤞 I'm just so over with constantly being in pain and the lack of sleep too 😫 xx
I experience it too and investigated it over the years. I was told it's costochondritis (by my breast consultant, osteopath and GP). I was also investigated for diaphragmatic endo and don't have endo there, at least sth, but as others mention - that's something to consider too. The gallstones, kidney and other things were ruled out too.
I experience rib pain (and side breast pain) which is worse during my ovulation. Anecdotally, i heard from there is some correlation for women with hormonal imbalances between costochondritis and low progesterone - something I want to look into and don't have any research evidence to point you into. This correlation would seem true to me.
I've been battling with this, diagnosed with advanced and extensive Endometriosis a couple of years ago. Had the surgery, did 6 months of Zoladex and I'm convinced it's on my right side (rib-cage). Hurts during ovulation and period. Painful doing some exercises too now
Hi, did you get to the bottom of your rin pain? My right ribs feel like a baseball bat has had a go at them pretty much every month in the lead up to my period. I also get pain in between my breast, my right breast kills too. I've previously been diagnosed with costochondritis. My shoulder hurts... the list goes on. I finally spoke to a GP again today, I've previously given up bothering since my second surgery. My GP is new (to me) and I'm hoping she can get something done, but my expectations are very low. I'm too exhausted to deal with this and fight to get what I need.
Hi Aino26,No I didn't but I had surgery just over a year ago now where I had a full hysterectomy and extensive removal of endo and cervix removed and since then my pain had all gone, I've just recently started to get pain on my sides so now trying to get to the bottom of that! It just seems never ending once uve had endo xx
thank you for your reply. Sorry to hear the pain is coming back again. I had my 2nd surgery last jan/Feb. Was going OK until I got the mirena coil and now over a year on from that, I just can't deal with it all. There's no other option for me except get the coil out, but I don't want to end up pregnant either. I think I need an mri, but I just don't think that is ever going to happen. It is never ending with endo... 😔 xx
