Endo & Chronic Fatigue

Hi, in short I was diagnosed with endo 4 years ago after a laparoscopy, I now have the mirena coil fitted which has stopped the heavy and painful periods. However I am still experiencing chronic fatigue symptoms and brain fog (I used to have th best memory!) and recently went to a gynaecologist who just kept asking where the pain was and basically suggested the fatigue symptoms could well be something else and are not normally to do with endo! Is this commonly overlooked? And is it actually the gynaecologists lack of understanding about the disease? Everything I read online says it’s definitely to do with endo! I had blood tests taken a lot and nothing ever came up! I have also read about oestrogen dominance, any advice welcome!! She did however prescribe a progesterone only pill has this helped with anyone’s fatigue?

Look at the post I did on Candida and endo, it might be what the issue is. You can find it by going to my profile and listing the posts I've made from there.

Hi There,I totally understand I got laughed out of gynaecology when I went in for fatigue despite this one of the symptoms of endo.

4 years later I got my operation and I had stage 3 so well done for having op that’s out the way now!

So good supplements

B12 spray is excellent or busy bee supplements from Holland and barrett is also brilliant a b complex which has everything in.

Get your iron levels tested I have had 5 infusions over the last 3 years as the amount of blood I lost with the heavy periods made me low iron.

Lastly Go with it be kind to yourself if you have to cancel plans do it.

Better to see friends or do things when you feel better.

If it continues seek further advice it does annoy me as any gynaecologist or GP should know the endo symptoms list.

Wish you better - don’t forget eat red meat and leafy greens.

Good luck x

Thanks so much for this and congrats on your pregnancy. It’s nice to know I’m not alone and am right in pairing it with the endo. I will definitely try the busy bee tablets - they have really good reviews. You mention you have stage 3 endo - all I was told when I had my op was that they found endo in the pouch of Douglas, adhesions and scarring. Would it be beneficial for me to know what stage it was? I’ve checked the Desogestrel tablets and there aren’t any side affects reported on fatigue. I’m praying they are my miracle cure!!!! As I have the coil fitted I don’t bleed at all and although I haven’t had any blood tests recently I had loads pre-op when I constantly felt awful with the heavy painful periods every 3 weeks and then fatigue hanging around the rest of the month and nothing ever showed up on my blood tests. I have been anaemic before (twice when I was pregnant) but it’s completely different. I have headaches that also feel like my brain is too big for my head, brain fog - I can’t remember things from 5 minutes ago, I get leg pain/burning and lower back pain, heart palpitations, feeling faint, the “tiredness” is like I’m being dragged to the floor and even if I laid down it’s no relief from the heaviness, I can have 10 hours sleep and wake up feeling like I’ve not been to bed and very emotional! Is this similar to your fatigue??

Yes totally the same Get a B12 a good high dose the busy Bee are great they take couple of hours to kick in and you know it has when your wee goes bright yellow.

That low energy is like anaemia they say it’s like walking in water all day like a real struggle everything felt heavy.

I feel for you as I really do understand x

Thank you 😊 that means so much! I don’t feel like anyone I know really understands - people say oh are you just feeling tired? And it’s like the word tired does not even touch it. I shall definitely try the tablets, thank you. And good luck with your pregnancy xxx

Thank you If the supplements don’t work as for more blood tests further investigation I had to do it and then eventually got the iron infusions even when my periods weren’t heavy anymore and had improved I still needed it.

Fatigue is dreadful makes you feel low, tearful. I remember when food or sleep didn’t make me feel any better.

Bless you wish you the best &. Thank you miracle pregnancy possible after my endo op!

Good luck x

I will do, just feel defeated before I’ve even attended hospital appointments now. My doctors kept telling me I have the gold standard treatment for endo being the coil and there’s nothing more they could do. When I was anaemic it was my ferritin - iron storage that was low rather than the iron in my blood. Wish you all the best! I didn’t think I would get pregnant once endo started but I was so luck after my op to fall pregnant. Hope all goes well xxxxx

Just realised you asked about progesterone I’m on it at the moment for my pregnancy as a gel and was put on tablet dose prior to help fall pregnant and it wiped me out I had to nap everyday on it.Read the side effects first

and do try the iron & b12 in my last reply x
