Prostap Injection and fertility

Hi Everyone,

I am looking for anyone who is or has been in the same position or know really what opinions I have.

I have been on prostap for 2 and half years getting the 3 monthly injections (every 10 weeks). The injection runs out before 8 weeks and right now I am getting mixed messages of how to deal with the situation. I go 29 in October and 30 creeps closer.

I am in a stage of whether to come off the injection and try have a child or continue with the injection. And wondered if anyone else had been in this situation, and what advise they received.

I am very lucky that I don't have a lot of physical endometriosis, though this meant laparoscopy didn't work either time I had it. I get a lot of pain and hormonal imbalance from my endometriosis.

Has anyone else been on the injection this long?

Does anyone else have the injection run out early?

Does any know the effects that being on the injection any longer can cause?

Any information would be appreciated and thank you in advance.

xx

I have been to my Gyne many times and none of the several consultants I have seen said I need to come off - I have been getting bone density checks though due to covid they stopped. We were not given that information and we are actually looking into private care due to the mixed messages I have been given. I am on a HRT I have been throughout the whole time.

I may not have much evidence of Endo but I have severe pain and hormonal imbalance because of it and this was the only option I had left to get it under control as laparoscopies don't work.

I am asking for people's advice not to be made to feel like I am not 'that bad' or that I have been mistreated.

I am surprised a specialist endo centre is agreeing to this but I hope you make the right decision.
