Hi everyone 👋Just wanted to know your thoughts/ experiences with Prostap, I had my first injection a month ago and after the initial two weeks of feeling like I was dying, I started to improve and other than my bowel issues can honestly say that the pain has reduced, but I had my second injection yesterday and today I feel like I've been hit by a bus again, my whole body aches, I have a horrible migraine just feel generally rubbish.
Has anyone else experienced this? Does it happen after every jab? Just wanted to check if this was "normal" or if I'm reacting badly to the treatment.
TIA 💛

If you are under 40 and were no where near peri then, without addback HRT these injections seem to hit hard. You have been placed into chemical menopause and its brutal. The sudden lack of estrogen will be really tough. A lot of women are put on Tibolone which is very low but helps a bit, but if you are young then I'd push for something stronger. Obviously if you were put on it for cancer then hormones are a no go, but for other issues i think the amount of estrogen in HRT is so low it's worth it, otherwise you'll stop the injections. Are you on it while you await surgery?
Thanks for your advice! Glad to know it's probably normal, or as normal as endo gets lol! I am on this to confirm diagnosis/ awaiting surgery, so hopefully only a temporary measure until I get to the top of the waiting list 🤞🏻
This can be normal for the first few injections. Are you on hrt add back therapy aswell? I had the same thing. I was on zoladex for 14 moths them prostap for 5 months. I had a hysterectomy in October last year. Still on the hrt patches. Keep going with it as it takes 4 months to settle. Hopefully this Friday I get signed off from the hospital after 20 years! Best of luck to you.
Thank you! Glad to know it's probably normal, it was just a shock to the system as I had started to feel a bit better recently and then it felt like I had taken two steps backwards the last could of days. Good luck for Friday 🥳
Hi I've had six so far, the first month I had bleeding for three weeks, and now and again I feel a little sick, but I have ibs, so it might just be that. But there than a few hot flushes or night sweats, no issues at all. But I am peri menopausal. Hope things settle down for the you. Sending a big hug too x
Thanks so much for your reply, I have luckily just had an appointment letter through to go and see my consultant at the end of the month so I can tell him all of this and find out if it is normal or not!
