Burns on stomach after laparoscopy (**WARNING IMAGES**)

I’m sorry for the graphic images but did anyone else ever be left with burn marks on their stomach after a laparoscopy.... these are so much more painful then the wounds them self and so strange as I know it’s not a reaction because I’ve never reacted to any medicines, dressings or the yellow stuff they use during surgery before... this is totally new... even my GP was very shocked when I showed her... there are more dotted around my stomach But these are the most painful ones, constantly throbbing and stinging.

Omg did you have ablation ?i will say though I had a previous c section and I can see exactly where my endo is growing on it as my scar has changed and I can recognise areas where it is located under the skin I’m told this is superficial endo x

They said it was excision? Oh wow really?? How strange I’ve never even heard of that! X

I’m told that ablation is awful and never cures the problem my mum had it for fibroids back in the day whilst awake and she said the burning smell and smoke was terrible they didn’t put her to sleep

Ah no :( oh dear.

Perhaps get in touch with your specialists secretary and see if you can email in the photos? They may be able to put 2 and 2 together with what your photos / symptoms are and what they did during your lap.

Maybe a reaction to the sticky plasters they use to hold things onto the body like tubes / equipment? The stuff during the operation is like white really sticky cloth so when pulling it off if the skin is sensitive it can cause a rash. The plasters can sometimes leave a residue so another idea is the remover spray / cleanser they use after could have irritated the already sensitive skin?

Just some thoughts.

Does it feel like it's getting better or worse?

You can use natural products on it; aloe vera gel or colloidal silver; both on amazon, they'll soothe the area, allow the skin to heal and antibacterial. Make sure the aloe vera is without alcohol. I found savlon on any cut / graze just makes the skin too soft and any scabs dissolve so leaving it weepy, which isn't what you want.

Thank you for your reply, yeah it’s probably just a reaction to something, just very strange as I don’t normally react to things like that and I didn’t have anything like this on the last procedure I had but I will definitely get in touch with them.

The colloidal silver is a great idea! I actually have some already as my stepmum is very holistic and has given me that for my wound that’s infected and also loads of zinc to help speed along the healing, I didn’t even think of putting it on there! Thanks for the tip😊☺️xx

It’s so soo painful and tender to touch, I have these burns dotted all over my belly and near the incisions. Hopefully because it’s so strange? Never had anything like this before?!

I had a reaction to the dressings they used and had marks around the sites. Once I'd taken them off and left them for a few days they quietened down

I just managed to speak to the specialist on the phone and he said they are 100% bruises which is strange because I’ve never had scabby bruises before 🤷🏼‍♀️ but he’s arranged a follow up to see me next Tuesday 10th at 11:45 to have a look at everything and discuss how I still keep being sick and feeling very nauseous and getting chills and sweats with very intense cramping xx
