Was wondering if anyone knew what would happen if I get a call for a lap and dye if I'm on holiday. I have been waiting since March for my lap surgery and was initially told it wouldnt be a very long wait so I have made no plans all year, however I have a holiday booked next month- now I am really worried they are going to call me up for my op when I am there or just before (thus ruining the holiday). Please can anyone tell me if I would be put to the end of the list for being out of the country??
Because I have been begging them for so long now... I am going to feel really silly calling them up at telling them I wont be in the country as it seems highly unlikely they will even call me anyway this side of Christmas..... What are the rules?

Just give them a call and tell them about the holiday. Usually when your first put on the list they ask if you have any holidays booked so they can avoid those. So just let them know so they can work around it. No you won't be put to the end of the list. They just will ensure your appointment isn't for that time.
Ok thanks for the advice, I will call them closer to the time and let them know. I am really fed up with waiting for them- is it normal to wait over 8 months for the lap???
I am currently on a general one I think.... not 100% with anything though.
The communciations with my current hosptial have been very poor and I dont have a clue what is going on or who/ what is going to be happening. This whole process has been extremely stressful and I dont get any answers from the hospital itself.
