I had a phone call from the hospital today and my lap appointment is on Thursday😱😱 I go to Florida on the 24th of November. Do you think I will be okay to go on the rides and stuff? And to walk around the parks. I'm so worried that it's going to ruin my holiday I really wasn't expecting to have it before my holiday!

I had a lap last year. I was off work for about 10days and probably back to normal within 3 weeks, hope that helps.good luck xx
You might struggle with rides because you’ll certainly not want to bang your tummy against anything or have any seatbelts/restraints tight against your tummy. You might also still be feeling quite tired after walking distances/being on your feet a lot. That largely depends on if you have treatment during your lap xxx
I would have been tired but managing at that point. I had minor ablation of endometrial spots, so no major treatment. I wouldn’t have been superkeen to go on rides due to the seatbelts etc but I probably could have done it - I went back to work after ten days and could bend etc by then.
Do be aware though, that if you try to delay until after your holiday, they might be funny about operating after you’ve been on a long flight because of thrombosis. My op was put off due to having flown to Spain, though this was the pre op nurse and my consultant later told me that anything under three hours was actually fine by her. I’m not sure how long you would have to wait after you came back but this might be worth investigating if you do decide to try to delay your lap.
i wouldnt have been upto that sort of holiday after 6 weeks let alone 3 . ive been to disneyland paris so can appreciate how physically demanding it is as you are on the go all day everyday. it may be worth checking with your insurance as they may not cover you for a long haul flight so soon after surgery also for risk of thrombosis etc. if it was me i would put it off and go enjoy your holiday first. if you have good reason you shouldnt get penalised by the hospital waiting office. x
I went on holiday two weeks after my first lap - it wasn't Florida but I definitely felt up to a long journey and walking by then! I started going for short walks a couple of days after the op and built up gradually. As others have mentioned, the rides may be different, but I would say not to worry too much and see how you feel - everybody needs to take these things at their own pace.
I’m 8 weeks post op and wouldn’t be up to that sort of holiday. It will all depend on what they do, any post op infections and how your body heals. I am relatively young and healthy so had thought it would take less time to get back on my feet, but you really can’t predict it. Rather than ruin an amazing holiday, delay the op. On a side note - I travelled long haul from Chicago a few days before my op and this wasn’t a problem, so should be fine unless you’re at risk of blood clots.
Hi, I think you should be ok by then it takes a couple of weeks to feel back to normal, if it was the week before you'd struggle but you should be back to normal more or less by then x
If I were you I wouldn't risk it! Go on holiday, have great memories and then have the surgery. Then when you are having some bad days and moments, you can then look back and remember the highlights of your holiday.
As mentioned previously, everybody is different. We don't know what they will find and remove or if they will find anything at all! You may or may not suffer any post-op side effects, bleeding, infections etc etc
The holiday has been planned and payed for. If it was me, in my humble opinion and you can last, go and enjoy your holiday.
