Hi I had a laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, and coil fitted almost 3 weeks ago. Since about 5 days after the op I have had pain in right shoulder blade that goes across back and pain in chest rib area. It seems to be below my breast, sort of just below bra line where is occurs. It's like a pain/ache that I get. It feels like I'm breathless, but I'm not actually breathless.
I have had physio on my back and shoulder, and she said that my muscles were very knotted. Have been to gp and they didn't know what it was and told me they didn't think it was anything to be concerned about.
It's 2 weeks I've had this pain. Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be a side affect of the coil? Would the muscle pain in shoulder cause the pain in ribs?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks

It's only 3 weeks after the op, I would think it's still to do with that. Maybe a muscle was strained by the CO2 inflation or maybe you've been tensing as a result, etc. I had rib pain for a few weeks after my last lap which went away after a while.
I was in pain for almost 2 weeks in exactly the same area. I was told it’s from the co2 as it is difficult to remove it once they are done in some people and it can take up to a month to leve your body. Gosh I remember the pain well, they even sent me for an X-ray but all fine now xx
Been back to doctors today, this time they said it might still be trapped wind from op. They have done blood tests to rule stuff out, and might refer me to hospital depending on results. It's awful pain. Hope ur ok now. X
