Hi all

Ive been on elleste solo 2mg since having my total hysterectomy and oopherectomy and have had no problem with it.

My chemist now says they cannot get it and after ringing other chemists in my area have been told that it is unavailable due to manufacturing issues. I have even tried online chemists.

I have been advised to go back to my doctors for them to give me an alternative. Which I highlight I will do...however I am not inclined to do so untill I am armed with correct information.

This is due to the fact that although after my surgery (which again I had to sort myself as my doctors have been very unhelpful with my anything regarding endometriosis) My GP questionned why I was placed on an estrogen only hrt. Even though I had been under a specialist...one of the very few in the UK...and a specialisy that is well known for his teaching about this issue in countries as far as America! My GP thought he was incorrect in his issuing of estrogen only and that I should be on the combined HRT...which I refused as I was told NOT to by my specialist consultant. (Which a different GP at the same surgery confirmed was correct *exasperated sigh*)

So as you can imagine I want to be armed with infomationbefore stepping through the door (of what feels like insanity at times) of my gP practice.

I have attempted to get in contavt with my consultant but believe he is out of the country.

I have only a week left of my tablets and am starting to get a bit apprehensive.

Does anyone here know of a name of an alternative?

Thanks

Thank you for your swift response!! Much appreciated.

Is that an estrogen only HRT?

Is it animal friendly? I know some have apparently got animal products in it...these tend to cause a problem with me.

2.5mg is what I have been taking. Its a combined but I had read a bit about it because its synthetic hormones it does argravate the endometriosis as much as other would. Not sure about the animal friendly tho. Good luck with you search! X

Hi There, I’m a newbie...

It’s a couple of months since you wrote this, i’m Interested to know how you got on, did you manage to find your Ellestte Solo or did you try an alternative? I’m in the exact same situation and just don’t know what to do for the best? I suffered for 10 years with endometriosis, my quality of life was rubbish, I didn’t get anywhere with my NHS Gynaecologist and so I decided to go private, best thing I’ve ever did, my private Gynaecologist put me on Elleste Solo 2 mg and I've never looked back, I’ve been happy as Larry, until now that is. What am I going to do? My Ellestte Solo 2 mg is apparently sold out everywhere. My GP said there is a similar one I can go on but it is really worrying me, I don’t want to rock the boat... Anyone else’s going through this?

Hi there

Ive been told that they are now no longer available. So with trepidation I went to my GP and explained that I dont want a different drug...i am not having any bad side effects and I want the 2mg as perscribed by my private Gynaecologist Consultant. So she gave me the same just a different brand. Its by Bayer and is called Progynova 2mg. Ive been on it for about 2 and half months and its fine for me. I havent had any problems with it.

Obviously we are all different and so what works for me may not work for you...but why not check this one with your GP. If you arent sure, get back intouch with your priavte consultant and ask them for what they think is best as an alternative.

Let us know how you got on. X
