**tmi post sorry** mucus after bowel movement

I had excision surgery 6 months ago and slowly but surely my symptoms have returned. I also have a new symptom which is really thick mucus after a bowel movement, almost like jelly (tmi sorry) my bowel symptoms are worse than they've ever been as are my bladder symptoms. Has anyone else experienced this and knows what it could be? Thanks in advance x

Hello,

Yes have experienced it! I think you need to go to your GP to discuss it and/or consultant. I have endo on the bowel and my consultant believes this is what is causing it - I have a lap next week to double check what is going on. I hope you get some answers soon :( xxx

Hi thanks for your reply, I had stage 3/4 endo removed in September but was told there wasn't any on my bowel or bladder although I did have it on my pod and left ureter. I've only seen my consultant once since then which was in January and cos the mini pill wasn't helping my symptoms they recommended zoladex which I'm still waiting to start over 2 months later, they're useless lol xx

Hey Lizzyxx,

I have the same issue I am on zoladex now and on my last months treatment. My symptoms got better at first and only now are they returning but with some blood. I am waiting for a scan to confirm but I believe now my endometriosis is shrinking the bit on my bowel is too, causing pain before during and after a motion, with quite a bit of blood and mucus.

I hope you get your Zoladex soon, it is a marvellous drug although like all the other drugs does have side effects. Best of luck with it all xx

Hi Lizzy, I am very new to this forum and the illness, but I too have similar issues.

I had my first lot of surgery in Jan 2018, and I am now back to having more problems. At the time they fitted me with a mirena coil to help with pain and it did work for a while. However now, like you, every time I have a bowl movement I have lots a mucus. My Dr thinks this is because my coil has slipped... Could this be the same for you? I am due a scan to check on my coil, but I am so confused as to where the mucus is coming from and why it only happens during a bowel movement. I would really appreciate any advice you have.

Hey Lizzy, I'm new here and your posts popped up - have you had any luck with finding out what was causing the mucus? I have had the exact same thing randomly start happening in the last 3 months or so. My bowel habits are so unpredictable that I will have both loose bowel movements and constipation multiple times all in one day, sometimes I will only pass mucus as a bowel movement, but also one time during a movement I had a similar experience of a big jelly/elastic like string of mucus like you described. It took me by such surprise that I was embarrassed to even tell my partner about it. It really freaked me out and I have no idea why these symptoms have now started! I am not entirely sure where my endo actually is as it is not stated anywhere in my lap notes that I have (from 2014), but am worried is it either endo getting worse, or is it IBS! Any advice on your symptom update would be fab as I have no idea where to start! Thanks x

I mentioned it at my 6 month check up but didn't actually see my consultant and the doctor I did see was beyond useless, I have my year check up next week though so I'm going to mention it again then. I'll let you know :) x
