I am 12 days post lap (9 places of endo excised throughout pelvis and ovary freed from bowel, uterus freed from pelvis) and I’m struggling with pain still. I think I’m more worried as I read so much about how I should be recovering now not getting worse. I’m getting a lot of pain where my ovary was freed from my bowel. My whole pelvis feels so so heavy and tender and I’m getting a new regular stabbing pain in the right side of my pelvis I didn’t have pre lap-last night It crossed my mind I had appendicitis, but I just took pain killers and get on like I’m used to doing. I spoke to my gp a week ago who gave me some laxido to get my bowels moving easier, which helped as passing a ‘regular’ poo was causing me to bleed vaginally-that has settled and whilst I’ve not got diarrhoea as such I’m going afew times a day which I don’t think helps. She gave me tramadol for the pain which I’m trying not to use too regularly as just one doesn’t touch the pain and two just knocks me out for half the day 🤦🏼♀️ I’m getting the bladder symptoms I had pre lap also. It’s coming up to the 12 days of the month I’m always at my worst as I’d be having a period if I didn’t have a mirena in, not sure if I will have a period now, or if that’s why I’m in so much pain.
Am I expecting too much too soon?
Should I go back to GP again? But expect her to do what? Is this much pain still normal post lap? Should I be or will I ever feel better? I wasn’t this bad in the first week 🤦🏼♀️

So sorry you're feeling rough. It sounds like you had a lot of work done. I'm 10 weeks post opp and FINALLY starting to feel more myself. Still have a heavy feeling, very fatigued and have a weak back. I could barely walk more than 10mins when 2 weeks post opp. My GP said although its small incisions you have basically been stabbed in the stomach several times. This goes through nerves etc. Internal healing can take 3 months and my surgeon said 4 mths to feel the full benefits of excision.
I felt I was going backwards after a few weeks. Had bowel issues and everytime I had a bowel movement it set off waves and pain and sickness. I also got the stabbing pains as well. I took buscopan to help slow the frequent bowel movements. It will improve in time. I know its hard to be patient because we want to feel the results of surgery. But it can take a while so hang on in there x
Hi there, it's a big operation, they just undersell the pain and shift by saying 'keyhole'. Take all the time you need. I experienced bad pain for 2 months and taken me 8 months to hormonally adjust and get my life back. Be kind to yourself and speak about yourself as you would your best friend. X
