Hi guys I’m new to all this...literally! I also apologise for TMI!

I’ve had problems since my periods began at 14, I’m now nearly 22. I saw gynae when I was younger and basically got told it could be painful periods. Coped with it in silence for years until I went back to see gynae in March after begging my doctor to refer me as I knew in myself I had endo and that something was wrong. I had a laparoscopy and hystoscopy 21st June 2018 where I was diagnosed with endo and pelvic inflammation disease. It’s now 3 weeks post surgery. Stitches have dissolved and the pain keeps coming and going however it’s one extreme to the other. I’ve also passed clots in the last week but not actually had a period.

Again this settled which was something I’ve became use to. However I’m still having pain on and off bad cramping and intercourse is still uncomfortable even more now. I expected a little discomfort but not this much. I’m back on nearly all my meds for pain

Naproxen 500mg, co-codamol 30/500 and using heat packs all the time.

The only one I haven’t gone back onto is mefanamic acid or trexanamic acid as I haven’t as such been bleeding other than clots.

I’m not due to see my consultant until 6th August. And I’ve also come off the depo injection prior to surgery (gynae’s idea)

Should I be worried about pain? Would asking to go on the pill help? Or is something still not right since I’m like this? I just don’t know what to do with myself.

Sorry for the long post

Thanks guys x

I’m just over four weeks since my operation and I’m swaying in pain as I read this, waiting for my meds to kick in. I have eased off my meds but still quite clear I need them. I wouldn’t worry too much.

I saw my GP last week who didn’t seem concerned about the meds I was still taking and did say I’ve had major surgery 🤷🏼‍♀️. Trying to go with the flow - hope you feel better soon x

Your body will still be recovering, did you have the endo removed? I had my lap on 18th of june and the endo couldn't be removed as it was too extensive but even so my body is still recovering from surgery x

They excised two for biopsy even though they’ve said it’s endo. But said I had it all over. But they only removed two from the left. And ohh right 🤔 I haven’t been back for my post op appointment yet as it’s not till August 😢 xx

I’m three months post an extensive endo excision and only this week can I go for days without any kind of painkillers. It seems to take much longer to recover than the surgeons tell you. Rest and don’t worry, you will feel better in a few weeks. And much much better in a few months.
