Pain a year after tah....

Hi, I had a hysterectomy a year ago and I had severe endo, fibroids and adenomyosis which meant 5 hours of surgery to seperate my bowel (which was nicked but sorted out) from my bladder and c section scar. I still get burning pain where my ovaries were and I have constant tenderness in my lower tummy and around my tummy button. (They started with laparoscopy but had to move to a do open surgery.... I have also had 2 previous laparoscopies🙄). Just wondered if anyone else is still not feeling great after this time? I have been told it could be adhesions, or endometriosis. Love to hear from anyone with similar situation. Thanks.

You shouldn't be in pain and not suffering. Your surgery was a year ago . I think the best option is to go back to your GP and see if they could refer you to a specialist gynaecologist clinic and you sorted.

Wish you all the best . Goodluck

I had a hysterectomy 4 years ago and I still am in as much pain as I was before, some times more! The consolation is I don't look like in bleeding to death now! They want to take my ovaries out but I refuse, having had the injection and being menopausal for a few months I and not doing that permanently!! The only thing they can do is give me pain killers and my gynae didn't even want to do that she's horrid. Hope you have more luck than me hunni....don't take any shit off them. Jo xx

Thanks sparklyjo....its all very frustrating! I had my ovaries removed and have been on livial since but hoped pain would go. Gp said could be 18 months until feel better but I reckon its poss adhesions. Really don't want more ops as just more adhesions! Painkillers do help. Agree re bleeding so not all bad news! Thanks for your reply.

I am probably wrong but Ask to try prometrium 300mg instead of the livial. It will fix hot flushes but also suppress endo as it is a progestetereone. I am perimenopausal and livial made my endo play up but I seem ok now on prometrium 300mg. Primolut 5 mg would also do the same thing. Your Gp could give u a script. Trying it wouldn’t hurt .
