pain 2 years after laparoscopy

Maggieeeeeeeeeeeeee profile image

hi

I had laparoscopy 2 years ago now and I feel in terrible pain in my stomache like I just left the operating table yesterday… I also became incontinent, I can hardly walk and each time I go to gynaecologist I get nowhere ….. I don’t get any treatment or review. I gave up on NHS and I need to go privately as I realised it can be a disability as I can’t do much for myself

unfortunately it does come back. I hope you can get the support you need from the private route.

I completely understand you. I gave up on NHS too, they caused me more pain with wrong diagnosis and giving me wrong medication and wasting my time. My Endrometriosis could have been controlled so it wouldn’t spread as it has spread now! Professor Ertan Seridogan is great and I highly recommend him if you wanna go private.

Yes they gave me misdiagnosis and tried to make me look as if I am not very mentally stable ???!!! Obviously it’s hormone which I didn’t get treatment for ….I think you can try legal route as I will have to as I have an appointment with the one who gave me miss diagnoses.

Hi, sorry to read you are not getting the support you need , unfortunately it really is a fight to get heard . Your stomach symptoms could be adhesions ( scar tissue from laparoscopy. I visited the GP many times over the years with stomach discomfort felt like I was being torn from inside ,it ached it burned I was nauseous and bloated . They always sent me to gastroenterology department they would do endoscopy and say slight inflammation and send me of with lamprazol . I went private with consultant who works in NHS as well . When he done laparoscopy he said due to the amount of surgeries I had dense adhesion and they couldn’t access through the usual route. When I asked him if that was what the symptoms were from my stomach he said yes . Adhesions are like glue and they stick your internals together . Your bladder maybe being pulled or there maybe endo around it . My bladder problem was from my kidneys becoming involved and y bladder was stretched! My endo was severe deep infiltrating but it had completely distorted everything , My best advise is to ask your GP for a second opinion and mention the adhesions as it’s not unusual to have them even after only one laparoscopy . How long ago was your surgery ? Where was the Endo ? The GPs should know Endo is never cured by surgeries it just reliefs for a period of time . I would press the GP on that , you should not be being fobbed , arm yourself with as much information before an appointment . Hope you get answers soon . Big hugs x

Hi thank you it was one one side of my ovary. But I had to go to A&e and now I know they gave me misdiagnosis… because I had MRI but my Gp never tested me for endometriosis they only refer me for gynaecology appointment and that’s a year wait.
