Lower left side pelvic pain worse lying down/at night

2 years ago (starting from February 2015) I started getting left hip pain and heavier, more painful periods.

One year and a half ago (October 2015) I also started getting bowel issues, quite like IBS and cystitis combined, only I had no infections when tested.

October 2015-January 2016 ongoing feeling of cystitis, feeling like I needed to urinate all the time. No burning sensation upon urinating, but a feeling that any urine in bladder pressed against something somewhere in lower left side of vagina--near left pelvic bone, hard to identify exactly.

February 2016 pregnancy followed by abortion (via pill)

March-July 2016 symptom-free.

July 2016-early August same symptoms I had in October--IBS and cystitis-like symptoms, plus new sensation of feeling dragged down by an unidentifiable pressure in lower left side of vagina again. Almost felt like I could reach a finger in and pull something out.

August 2016 okay, no major symptoms except vaginal/pelvic pressure persisted at night.

mid-September 2016 Sudden onset of terrible pain and pressure, worse than previous month, accompanied by IBS like symptoms (diarrhoea and constipation) and only passing blood clots in period.

October 2016 GUM clinic, no STIs confirmed, told by doctor that she felt a buldge/swelling in left side of vagina.

Late October 2016 Terrible pain which I couldn't control with over-the-counter medicine--left breath pain, left pelvis pain, frequent and urgent urination (otherwise in terrible pain), left shoulder and arm pain, feeling that blood was pumping fast to affected areas, some pain below left ribcage, stabbing pains around left ovary (felt like electrical pain) and in anus and vagina.

-went to A&E. They didn't seem worried except for my pulse rate which was fast. Had an ultrasound which showed what they thought was a small functional cyst on left ovary UCLH. CT scan with no dye. They weren't concerned by any of the findings. Discharged with amytriptline, tramadol, naproxen and the pill (I was told to take this back-to-back), plus referral to pain clinic (I was told this would take 1 week max as initially they wanted the pain team to see me in the ward, but there were delays.)

November 2016, by end of month (using the pill) pain starts subsiding. By December okay, through to January.

Mid-February 2017 ultrasound to check ovaries (done during pre-op, ovarian cyst still there.)

Late February 2017 diagnostic laparoscopy performed by general gynecologist at UCLH. Nothing found, not even the cyst, discharged and told I have no need for follow-up treatment. Recovery quite quick, though left sided area feels worse after surgery.

March-mid-April 2017 okay still, no pain but mild pressure. Note: in April my husband and I had to leave the UK. His student visa expired and I was financially dependent on him (and obviously don't want to be separated)--he wasn't entitled to apply for UK spouse visa as I was earning less than £18,500k.

Late April breakthrough bleeding (in the form of clots that I could only pass by going to the loo), feeling of pressure build up again in left side of vagina, some abdominal pain. Persisted until I took a period break. Could only pass large clots by going to the loo, very little blood on pads, if any at all. Continued pill after a week but pain continued too.

May-mid June-severe debilitating pain: in pain sitting down and lying down, constant need to use the loo, frequent bowel movements. Persisted even after clots finished, continued feeling of being blocked in left side. I had a colonoscopy abroad to rule out bowel issues which came through clear.

Late June-early September more or less pain free with some nights where I was more aware of pressure in left side.

Now (late September) Return to the UK for health treatment. Husband here on limited tourist visa to help me out.

More breakthrough bleeding in the form of fleshy clots-- intense feeling of pressure in left side again has returned, feels like the same place in left side of vagina/near pelvic bone where I could physically stick in my hand and pull something out. Still taking the pill but might have to take another pill break to relieve this.

Going to get a smear test and seeing an Endometriosis specialist next week.

In my experience, naproxen worsens gastric issues, tramadol works though also causes constipation which in turn aggravates issue. Also, while it removes the pain, it does not remove the pressure.

I can seldom be in the UK and I'm really stressed about this. It's been years and I feel I need to get answers now, while I'm here, if I'm going to live a pain-free life for next few years.

If this is not endometriosis, what is it? And what can I do to live a normal life? Why am I only passing blood clots, why is the pressure so low down in my body (left side of vagina) and why does the pill alleviate it for 2-3 months, only for symptoms to return and blood to break through giving me one-two months of hell?

Did you get to the bottom of this? I've been having similar problems with clear test results and feel like I'm going crazy sometimes!
