Endometriosis and intercourse?

Hi all,

I just wanted to know what symptoms or side effects people experience when they have intercourse? Is it safe? Can you have intercourse while you have an endometrioma cyst?

I have been diagnosed with endo and just had my first lap 3 weeks ago.

Sex was always painful to the point off tears after. It was quiet uncomfortable during but the pain after was this aching, deep in me and had me crouching in pain.

When they did my lap they also found cycs which were removed, my ovary was also flipped upside down and had attached itself to my bowel.

I am yet to have sex after lap, just having my first period after the lap now.

I'm nervous, scared but hopeful that sex will not be so painful and always end negatively for me.

I feel so bad for my husband who has been wonderful and patient.

As far as your question I'm not sure but for me it was always very pain with cycs and endo. I'm sure it's possible, depending on your pain tolerance. Hopefully someone else has more of a definite answer.

Thank you for your reply, I actually do not experience any pain during intercourse at all!!!

I have a cyst on my right ovary that is 36mm and wondering if it is dangerous to have sex while having a cyst?

I also had lap about 3 weeks ago now when I had my appendix removed but ended up being a burst chocolate cyst

I have endo and vaginismus (the endo was onlydiscovered through the vaginismus but now they reckon the two go hand in hand) and sex is extremely painful and often penetration just doesn't happen. The pain is intense and it's a really deep sort of pain that just makes it totally not enjoyable. No lap or anything yet so I'm not sure how bad the endo will be (if they find any, my biggest fear is they won't!) Hope you get your answer soon! x
