Decapeptyl how long till it works?

Hi,

I'm on my first injection of Decapeptyl and feeling pretty rough. I'm just wondering how long until the medical menopause actually kicks in. I feel like if I know an approximate idea of when things will change I can cope with the side effects. From what I can understand it's about 2 months but I'm a tad confused and would welcome others thoughts, experiences and knowledge. Thank you.

I am on my 2nd ProStap injection and have been feeling pretty good. Not sure how similar the two drugs are. I had my coil out a week after the first injection, then about 10days of bleeding, and nothing since. My back and abdo pain is mostly gone. I had a very bad headache for a couple days after the 2nd injection, and since about week 3 I've had hot flushes. I had a bad cold and wasn't sure to start with if it was hot flushes or that but it's def hot flushes, but they don't really bother me much in comparison to the pain i was in. I haven't taken the hrt i was prescribed. When did you have your injection? I'd say you really need to have the 2nd (assuming it's similar to Prostap) to really feel the benefits, I have felt better each week since about week 3. Hope that helps, and hope you feel better soon.

Thank you for replying. I was tempted not to have 2nd injection but think I need to persevere. Did you feel better some days and worse others or did you feel awful and then slowly get better? Last one after 2nd injection did the side effects return or level out? Really appreciate you replying. Have felt a little lost.

I would say I never really got worse once I'd had the injection I stayed the same. When I had my coil out I started bleeding but the pain gradually began to ease until I eventually realised I wasn't in pain. All complicated by being on holiday and taking flu medications as I got an awful cold while on holiday. But once I stopped taking meds for that I haven't needed more. After my second Jab I had an awful headache for a few days and more hot flushes than on average but within a few days I was back to being pain free and great. I would say overall I'm much better now than I've been for years. But everyone is different you need to decide what's best for you. If you are on balance a little better since your first give the second a go. If overall life is more unbearable maybe don't risk a second. I hope you figure out what's best for you.

Hiya I had my first injection 2 weeks ago. Starting to feel rough now... Headache, tired, joint pain and feeling sick. Not sure if I'm coming down with something or if it's the injection. Any feedback would be welcome
