I'm seeing so much conflicting information on how long is the maximum time you can be on it? My gynecology said indefinitely however I am reading so much saying 6 months is the maximum? I mean I don't want to undermine them but I really am worried.
Not sure if this is totally unrelated but I'm getting really sharp pains in my hands hard to explain but anyone experienced this? Also bleeding on and off constantly and alot of clear discharge

My Consultant said 6 months but you can have another six months but I thought it was after a gap. I found it helped with the pain but I still bled for the first two months.
I replied to this on another post - sorry! It's the licensing laws that say 6 months to a year. Endometriosis clinics are able to prescribe it for longer because they're not prescribing it for anything HRT related. This is why your GP can only prescribe you 5mg of provera but my consultant could put me on 20mg if he wished. Some women need these injections to function if they have PMDD. The side effects for me this week (I only started zoladex a week ago) are exactly like peri menopause: pains in my hands, wrist and elbows, headaches etc. The pain is from a lack of estrogen. If you are under 40 and on these injections long term they will offer you regular bone scans. Hope that helps x
