Bloating after laparoscopy and mirena.

Hi, I am new to this but wondered if anyone else has had bloating with their endo? I have been finding it hard to lose weight for a few years but put this down to getting older! However since my laparoscopy 8 weeks ago I have put on over a stone, gone up 3 cup sizes in my bra and my stomach is extremely bloated, looking about 7 months pregnant! I also had a mirena fitted at the same time. I have spoken to a consultant and a doctor who have told me that I have just put on weight and need to exercise more and eat less. This is not helpful as i know how to be healthy, I ran a half marathon last year, but it is hard to do a lot when in pain. I am on the waiting list for a hysterectomy as I put my foot down and requested to have one. Endo is all over ovaries, tubes, uterus and has fused them all together. Just curious as to whether the bloating is connected to endo or mirena as it seems quite a coincedence. Thanks.

I put on over a stone I have had marina taken out now and I am struggling to get it off, I did sw for years and managed to loose over a stone and a a half put it all back on , I have lost about 3 lb since having it out 2 weeks ago :( I want to loose about a stone before I have my hysterectomy but I don't think that is going to happen in 3 weeks :(

After the doctors telling me the endometriosis and mirena don't cause bloating and I am just overweight, I have read lots of posts that would appear otherwise. Nice to know I'm not the only one.....just gets me down so much, not being able to fit into any of my clothes etc.

its a full circle I ate rubbish because I was in pain and hormonal and fat , which put on weight then I get depressed that I put on weight so I ate more rubbish.

Yeah I agree. I suffer depression and anxiety too so I know I'm no angel when it comes to eating when I'm feeling down. At the moment I just have days where I either feel so nauseous (like I'm pregnant) that I can't eat or days where I just eat everything I see! hoping after the hysterectomy I will feel like a new woman and can start to lose some weight!

Have you looked at the endo diet at all? I've not had a Mirena, but was getting uncomfortably bloated. The diet recommends cutting down on certain foods which can trigger bloating or 'feed' your endo. I now have lactofree milk instead of normal milk and also only have bread at the weekend - I try to have proper bakery bread too, rather than supermarket rubbish! The bloating has reduced significantly. There are lots of other foods which can cause problems, but these seem to be the most common. ITs worth experimenting with what you eat to see if it helps you. There is lots of info on the endo diet - just type it into the search bar.

Hi Dear I have exactly the same issue like yours and after my endo laparoscopy I am senstive to many foods and can only digest lactose free milk. I don’t even know why I am bloated after my meals. Everday I have this bloated stomach issue even taking precautions. Can you please tell me what you do regularly to avoid bloated stomach and does this thing ever goes away. I will really appreciate if you can show some direction in this regards. Thanks
