I have significant endo with bowel adhesions. In the months before my laparoscopy, I had really bad acid reflux. It went after my op. Then a couple of months ago the symptoms started creeping back and this week the reflux has made a reappearance big time. I've got through 8 Rennies just today and it's not touching it. I had a touch of gastric flu over the weekend so wonder if I'm still getting over that, but reflux isn't listed as a symptom. Given I've had it before and it went away after my op, I wondered if it could be endo related?
Has anyone heard of excess stomach acid as a symptom of endo, and any advice for dealing with it? I'm not on any hormonal treatments or painkillers except the occasional ibuprofen & cocodamol when the pain is unbearable. (I hate taking tablets!)

Yes! This is the same as me. Im convinced mines endo related as its got really bad same time as endo flared up again. I take Lansoprazole to reduce acid which is good. Rennies Gaviscon etc didnt touch mine. Been hospitalized twice before with it. Ask your gp for a PPI they reduce acid alot. Hope it soon eases x
yes same here I had acid reflux for over 2 years, and still get it now , not sure if its connected but it has improved slightly after 2nd lap and removal of my fallopian tubes and excessive adheshions, which has left me with endo and adenymosis , and suspected fibromyalgia ,,,,,
if u know things are not right keep persisting as it took years to diagnose me and its all been too late to save my fertilty etc,,,
awaiting appointment with consulatant and rheumotologist
If you don't like taking pills have you considered diet and whether certain foods trigger it more than others? I used to live on Windeze and Rennie/gaviscon but I've found cutting out wheat to be very effective. There is a whole endo diet which i've found to be too restrictive to follow completely so I've cut back on the other foods but cut wheat completely and I think it's been very helpful.
I had terrible stomach acid until I was diagnosted coeliac disease. All disapeared with the gluten free diet. Have a gastroscopy, is the way to know. It is better not to start the gluten free diet before a biopsy. Good luck

yes , same as I never put all the symptoms together, I had terrible heartburn/acid reflux and being sick most mornings after waking up ...
It was down to extensive adhesions, ovaries stuck to bowel etc etc,
iv now had 2 lap , and removal of my fallopian tubes (damage had been done-too late being diagnosed )
that was in February 2013, and unfortunately iv got to go in again, 3 rd time lucky i hope? this is embarrassing, always in extreme pain/discomfort, too tired to do anything
surgeons never give u enough time to ask questions/concerns etc , im so fed up got to go in again just before Xmas, this has ruled my life for toooo long
