Newbie and looking for advice on acid reflux and ibs connected to endo

Hi to you all,

I'm Paula I am 47 years old and I was diagnosed with endometriosis in my 20's and was checked again and it was severe in my late 30's, I was early menopausal with periods completely finished at 42, because I was early menopausal I turned down the chance to have a hysterectomy thinking symptoms would disappear, the doctors took 2 years to convince me to go onto hrt because of my age, so at 44 I started to take hrt. Initially I didn't have any endo symptoms, although I have connected the beginning of my acid reflux symptoms and my ibs to when I started taking the hrt. I have had really bad acid reflux which I take omeprazol for,I don't seem to be able to be rid of this. I am also getting periods of fatigue accompanied by a very painful lower back pain, which is making me wonder if my endometriosis is all flaring up again, or if the acid reflux and ibs are separate issues? I had blood tests today for my lethargy, as I have been suffering for weeks with it,

Can anyone relate to this?

Any advice would be a huge help

Thanks

Did this all start roughly round the same time you started with HRT? As people with endometriosis shouldn't be given HRT with oestrogen as it can stimulate endo causing it flair up.

Yes symptoms died down in the two years after periods stopped, then after starting hrt the heart burn and ibs began and occasional bouts of lethargy and back ache, it was discussed and they put me on elleste duet which is oestrogen and progestogen apparently the better type to take when you have endometriosis. My lethargy and back ache is becoming more frequent now

I would go back to the GP and ask to be put on something different that doesn't have oestrogen.

As far as I know you can't get one without it,

Make sure your not eating any soya or tofo, or any foods in food map that contain histamines! Reduce sugar and yeast intake, Coffee, oranges, juice, onions. For me I also can't eat mushrooms. If you have to take any alcohol have food with it. Don't eat large meals and try and spread food over 6 intakes. Don't eat 3 hrs before bed. Use a liquid anti acid before bed. Generally up your water intake. Fennel Tea and chew Fennel seeds, Pepemint oil will help. My best Joy

Thanks for the advice 👍 starting to think this is all endo related 🙄 I'm currently waiting for blood test results, I started a bleed today which I sometimes get with elleste duet hrt, but I'm 3 days into my white tablets, and it usually comes when on the green ones. Bleed is very bright red and watery so I'm wondering if this is normal??? I also have more pelvic pain to go with the back ache. Obviously thinking something's going on maybe polyps etc ???? Back to the docs I think, test results tomorrow hopefully
