Under what circumstances would cause you to have to have either ovaries removed or a hysterectomy procedure done. My reasoning for asking is because, the gynea that sent me for surgery, said he would see me 3months after my lap (which was 3weeks ago on the Wednesday coming). He now wants to see me this week on thursday, only 3 weeks after my lap. So I am expecting bad news infact really bad news? As anything that iv thought of, of why he wants to see me so soon, that has been logical all mean bad news and more operations. Im really worrying myself sick with it. But all in all im just curious.
Hi, I'm sorry I bet you are all sick of m... - Endometriosis UK
Hi, I'm sorry I bet you are all sick of me. As I have posted a couple of posts sorry for being a pain. But have another question for you.
I know it's easy to say but try not to worry. I've not had a lap so not sure what the usual waiting time is to be seen afterwards. Was you groggy when he spoke to you perhaps you got the timing mixed up? If not hopefully it means he believes he can help with your pain and suffering a lot sooner. I'm seeing gynea on Wed and hopefully will get date for my hysterectomy. Fingers crossed
I hope you get the date sooner rather than later and it was before i went into surgery so was fully with it, as no doctor came and saw me afterwards it was just a nurse looking after me,and who talked to me. I'm just glad that if it is something serious that he has found it early and believes he can help me sooner rather than later if that makes sense. Iv also had abnormal swaps and biopsy's since being 17 so I'm worried it could be cancerous or something like that. I know it sounds really dramatic but it really worries me as i have my little boy (hes 2) and want him to grow up with his mummy being able to play and help him with things. I also have mental illness so its really really hard for me not to think and go through every possible reason for him wanting to see me so early than what was said and agreed to. I also don't want to ruin Christmas for my son and other half. Every possible aspect and reason and anything you could think of has entered my mind. Also more children is a huge deal for me and the other half. I just worry about everything
It could literally be as simple as he had a cancellation and can fit you in. They might want to get their year end targets sorted and so are moving appointments up. A change of staff at the hospital which has freed your consultant up for earlier appointments. It could be anything like that, and most probably is.
I know it's easy to say not to worry, but whether you worry about it or not isn't going to change what's going on in there. Also, if they had found anything seriously wrong I am fairly sure they wouldn't have waited as long as 3 weeks to get you back in.
As I said, I know it's easier said than done but try to flip it around - this way you'll know exactly what you're dealing with much sooner and you won't have to even think about it over Christmas
I had an ovary coated in endo, stuck inside an endometrioma- causing me untold grief.. so it was taken out along with the tube. Not had an ounce of pain since the op pains died down on that side. ~Still have one remaining which is working (darn it!!) and I am quite happy to have seen the last of the other one.
As Chrissy says could just be a cancellation slot, or might be that you had a biopsy that came back with an iffy result and they want to do further investigations, or your blood was tested and came back with an unusual level of something which may need treating - like thyroid probs or liver probs. Could be anything and nothing.
No point speculating or worrying because it could simply be that they can now fit you in sooner and clear some of their backlog so the Doc gets his X-mas holidays !! Or his winter skiing trip booked.
Ok thankyou both you have helped me realise that either way in being seen this week, and there's nothing i can do about it. It could be something and nothing or something serious, either way i cant worry about something that i don't know what is going to happen.
