Unfortunately my results was not what i was hoping as i really believed i had endo, so gutted to say the least, not to mention in pain. I didnt really get to speak to the surgeon after as i was so out of it apart from he said it went perfectly and wants to see me in 4 weeks. Is this usual to have appt with surgeon 4 weeks after 1st lap?
Thankyou xx

Hey, I’m sorry you didn’t get any answers during your lap but yeah the appointment is just a follow up as to what will happen next and make sure recovery is going well. Mine wasn’t till 6 months after surgery so you’re pretty lucky. Just rest and focus on recovering xx
Hiya no i didnt get any note with anything they did. And i think he wasnt a specialist of endo, just a gynae. I think i have it on my bowel but can this be easily missed on the bowel? X
I had my Lap on Friday just gone as per a lot of posts recently no endo found , was only with a general gynae, and I didn't get a discharge note or anything. Just a letter to the GP stating what pain medication I've been given on discharge. 🤔 My gynaecologist never even said if/when I'll have a follow up appointment.
Oh gosh thats awful hun😔 its so frustrating wen u really think you have endo to be told you havent makes it all pointless! Like going through this pain and the anxiety i had pre surgery, im just annoyed of my results tbh. But cant understand why they didnt give you a follow up , an appt hasnt been made im not really sure if they call me or send a letter.
How are you recovering from lap as it was only friday? Have you gone back to work yet? X
Thanks for your kind words. I know exactly how you feel. Sort of feels like you've been told you're making up your pain. 😩 My GP has said I should get a follow up appointment so fingers crossed. Feeling okay, still quite sore and tired, but unfortunately I've developed an infection in my incision site so that's not helping matters. How are you doing? Xx
No problem hun. Its nice to talk to someone with simular situation 😊. Glad your recovering ok, apart from the infection, im guessing they have given you antibiotics?
Im ok ish still early days as only had it 4.30 yesterday afternoon. So still very sore. Tramadol has finally worn off, lol i didnt agree with that felt really drunk on it and sick.
Yes, double dose of antibiotics lol. Oh really? I just got given Dihydracoedine, Ibuprofen and Paracetamol. Tried not to take the Dihydracoedine though as I have bowel issues and it can back you up. Glad you're feeling okay. Just take it easy, rest and don't overdo it. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Let me know how you get on at follow up appointment. Xx
Wow double dose must be a bad infection hun, no they gave me tramadol in hospital straight after lap but they gave a higher dose mixed with co codemol so it took ages to get out of system lol. Ive been given just co codemol and ipbrofen to take at home. Ill message you soon when i have follow up, but if you need a chat or watever you can message me anytime , speedy recovery for you too😊 xx
Wow thankyou for all of that. I didnt realize theres alot more to it , to diagnosing endo. So fingers crossed theres Still hope for me yet 😊
I did ring to speak to day surgery that did my lap yesterday and askedabout a note, and they said they dont give notes out anymore. They usually give it during follow up appt, so we will see.
Hello Lisa. I hope you’re well. I had a clear laparoscopy with a surgical team about this time last year. The pain was unbearable. I ended up having the lap to check my appendix. I was still in pain a month later and my gp reluctantly got me admitted to a gynaecologist. I was in hospital 4 days. Clear ultrasound and again they couldn’t find out what was wrong and I couldn’t possibly have endometriosis as my pain was constant and it only happens during your period - yeah right! So she put it down to constipation! Luckily while I was in I saw a register who was understanding and agreed for me to have another lap 6 weeks after my discharge. The day finally arrived for my 2nd lap and when I came round she was ever so surprised to find endometriosis. She said she had ablated what she found on my right side but wouldn’t touch the left as it was too risky for her to do. I was discharged and told to see my gp for the pill and no follow up with gynaecology. I tried the pill and it didn’t work I was still in agony, couldn’t walk or sit down either. I was taking co-codamol 30/500 and oramorph. Fast forward 4 months and I had to go private. My gp wasn’t much use and I couldn’t take it anymore. He was the most understanding man I have ever met. I had my 3rd lap with him and he excised both pelvic side walls. The pouch of Douglas. Rectovaginal septum. Uterovesical pouch. Right abdominal wall. Bilateral endometriomas. I felt like a new woman. I don’t take anything now and I’m still pain free.
Sorry for the long post but it’s just to say you know your body better than anyone and you know something is wrong. You don’t feel like it going through it but you have to fight to get the treatment. I couldn’t do that with the NHS so I had to go prove with a BSGE specialist.
Thankyou for telling me your story it really has made me see light at the end of the tunnel. Im sitting here in pain thinking to myself why did i even bother , all i wanted was answers and to have it treated and to tell everyone else that the pains ive been having are not fake and are real. Now i feel im stuck at a wall with not knowing which way to go next. As i start to talk my self into thinking its all in my head after all😔 glad you finally got your answers though, its nice when you finally get your freedom and feel you again xx
