Hi everyone,

Sorry this is a little late. This is an update dealing with the sensor from 9-6-2021. It may be a little longer than normal, but we'll see what happens when I get done typing.

For the last few days, there had been a lot of alarms/alerts going off on the receiver. Some of the alarms/alerts were dealing with Sensor Error/No Readings on and off for most of the day and some early mornings. When the alarms went off early morning, this was going on for a few days back to back and made it hard to keep from being able to get a full good night's sleep. The one part that bothered me about this was, the alarms kept going off even during the day and before/after dinner hours and you never knew when the readings would be back. I also was getting a headache from the nonstop alarms since some of them were also not right for the blood sugars. The system thought I was running lower than I really had been and since the arrows were straight down with one or two arrows, it was never possible to calibrate at the time. Sometimes, it was off by 100-200 compared to what it really was when testing at the time. Very unreliable and stressful.

When I finally changed the sensor and inserted a new one (the one I'm using since last night), I called for a free new sensor to be sent out to me. I was told it'll be here by 9-15-2021 at the latest-- end of day. We'll have to wait and see what happens since having something come in a two day time period seems unusual for a replacement since the Rep. told me 3-5 days for delivery. This must be their standard timing for free shipments to be replaced for equipment in general since this is always what I get told each time I'm on the phone with issues.

So far, the newest sensor is working fairly nicely, so no worries about it, yet. We'll see what happens in the next few days.

Watch this page for more updates to come very soon.

The saga goes on Leah. You must get so fed up with it all! It's a really expensive system and needs improvement!

It's a wait, watch and see type of situation. Over the years, I've learned that not all of the sensors will cooperate/do what they are supposed to even when you think they will! It's a toss up sometimes. :-)

Wow they ought to have you inspect and do system analysis to see where they rate with their product!! You could set them up for definite improvement!!!!

Mmm, doesn’t inspire me to bother getting them. Hoped they’d be better than the other product.

Since the sensors are handmade, it sometimes isn’t perfect, so a person has to watch very carefully for any issues that may come up now and then. 😀👍

This is not right! What a terrible worry for you. Maybe you should make a formal complaint in writing because there are problems with sensors nearly all the time.

TT x.

Hi ThyroidThora ,

The issue is that there are some sensors that do work the correct way and then there's the ones that don't last the correct full 10 days. When I do contact the Tech. Support Reps., I do tell them why I'm not happy and they feel bad that things aren't working correctly for me. It seems to be that I'm one of the only ones who calls almost every week with a complaint/request for a free replacement. The other issue is, this is the only CGM I'm able to use for right now, so I can't change/switch systems until later down the road-- not sure when, though. When that does happen, everyone will be told from me.

It' still not fair on you at all. I'd escalate it higher because you didn't have so many problems with the Dexcom 4. It seems to me that you are the guinea pig for this product but, it's your health at risk and not theirs!

Thank you for saying that. They do need to find a way to improve on certain areas.
