Hi everyone. Here's an update on what happened with the sensor I had been using recently. First of all, this may be longer than normal since there's a lot of information to bring up. Second, sorry for the delay in posting this today. Things got a little busier than planned and I finally had the chance to sit down and type it up.

The old sensor that was used recently lasted 9 days instead of the full 10 days. Since the old sensor wasn't lasting the entire 10 days and I was getting too many sensor errors and alarms going off, I ended up removing and stopping the old sensor before getting ready for bed last night. I also called for a free new sensor and they told me that I was expecting to get the sensor by the weekend. I'm hoping it'll be here Saturday by the end of the day.

This morning, I was woken up a few times because of the alarms going off. This new sensor is hopefully going to work longer than the one I removed last night because this one already had issues and I will try to get some rest after dinner tonight.

More to come soon. Watch this page for more updates! :-) Stay safe, happy and healthy! :-)

Sorry to hear about this situation. It seems like it's an ongoing problem with the sensor. It's really unfortunate the there isn't a more convenient, reliable and more cost effective alternative for this current sensor.. Cost effective being the main thing.

Thank you for the reply. I appreciate it very much.😀👍

Yes, it would be great if the sensors would be more reliable and not have any issues. The only ones that I have used a few months ago, those were the ones that lasted the entire time. Other than that, I keep needing to change sensors before the 10th day.

I know. It can be stressful, but I deal with it as much as I can.😀👍👍

It's all we can do sometimes

That’s true. Dealing with a certain type of issue is necessary now and then.😀👍

So sorry for your continued frustration and bad luck in these sensors, hope that this will become a problem of the past and only great success will materialize for you very soon!!!!!

Thank you for saying that. I hope things change for the better soon, too! 😀👍

Hi Leah, I agree with Lazaruslong that it's a great pity the sensors aren't more durable and reliable. It's spoiling what should be a brilliant diabetes aid. At least the company seems to be on the ball with sending out replacements so you should hopefully have your new one by the end of today. It's good that you are able to point out to others who might be thinking of using it, the drawbacks as well as the advantages of using this system.

Thank you, Sue for bringing that all up about reliable/nonreliable issues for the sensors. I did have 2-3 sensors before that were better than the others I had used over the time I've started using the G6, but for the entire time that I've used the system (before getting the G6) has been 6 years. I started using the G6 in May of 2020-- May 19th.

The free new sensor should be here either later today or sometime later in the day on Sunday before 8 pm. I wonder if the new one on its way will be the same code number as this one I have used since Thursday. We'll have to wait and see when it gets here. :-)

I’m so sorry that happened I wish that it would be permanent and you wouldn’t have to replace it all the time

Thank you, Hiba. For the sensor, it has to be replaced because they either last the entire time as they are expected or the user will have to stop them and use a new one so a person can get accurate information for the entire time it is inserted under the skin.😀👍

Oh I didn’t know that .I do know that it’s inserted under the skin though

That’s okay! Anytime you want to ask a question, please let us know. I have been using the system for 6 years now.😀👍
