Weeks 27 & 28: DEXCOM (Semanas 27 & 28: DEXCOM)

What an interesting two very quick weeks with the DEXCOM and a pinky finger that got infected. There is a picture of the finger lower down in the posting. Can't believe how fast this could've happened. Also, along with the infected finger, I now have a rash from the antibiotic (my GP stopped that yesterday when I saw her on an emergency-basis). I noticed the rash when I was changing the transmitter after 6 months and the newest sensor since the other one I had been using wasn't working at all. It kept loosing me and giving in correct readings. For two nights in a row, the DEXCOM kept going off with the alarms because it thought I was high even though I wasn't close to 400. It also thought I was 52 when I was 125. Not enough sleep!

¡No bastante sueño!

I called DEXCOM's Technical Support yesterday morning before changing anything and told them what has been going on for the last few days. They are sending me another sensor starting Monday and should be here either Tuesday or Wednesday this week. It will be a free sensor since this last sensor wasn't working the correct way. So far, the one I inserted yesterday is working. I'm hoping it lasts for the entire 7 days like it is suppose to.

Well, this is all for right now. Keep on reading and enjoy the week ahead! More later!

Did you change your sensor because it had run out? Or because it was 6 months after starting to use it?

I change the sensor ever week when I'm suppose to (every 7 days if they don't go bad before then). I changed the transmitter because they say in the manual that they run out on their lifespan when it gets to the 6 month period. The newest transmitter runs out in July of this year.

I'm going to write a new posting very soon. Please look for it later either this morning or in the afternoon after lunch (12 noon).
