Hello everyone! I wanted to let you all know that I had given a call to the Tech. Support tonight to get another free replacement sensor for the DEXCOM. This sensor that I just took out from Friday afternoon kept acting up and giving false readings/lows/highs when that wasn't right. The sensor had been causing so many issues yesterday that I ended up not really doing much of anything else when I was at work since I was too busy doing testing and recalibrations almost every hour on the hour to see if I really was low or high! I had mentioned this to the Tech Support person before hanging up with him tonight. The sensor even thought I was 80 mg/dl and below before sitting down to eat dinner tonight. In reality, my number was 244 mg/dl! Unfortunately, since the sensor wasn't showing any numbers at the time, there wasn't any chance for me to calibrate and change the number. DEXCOM knows about this, as well.

The next free sensor is suppose to be coming between 3-5 business days this week. Hopefully, the replacement will be better than the one I took out this evening (the bad sensor).

Well, this is all for right now. Sorry this seems so much shorter than normal, but it's been one of those hectic days/evenings! Keep on reading!

¡Siga leyendo!

Hi,

I thought Dexcom was working better than before. It seems that it's going backwards again and it must be a worry for you because you won't know whether to eat to your meter or not. This isn't very good, perhaps it's not the sensors but your meter that needs changing.

Keep me posted.

No, it was the sensor because the one I'm using now is working correctly. I've been using the same meter for a very long time.

Oh it was just a thought. You must get fed up of chasing the company for sensors that work.

I chase them for the free replacement ones for the ones that don't work correctly, but when they do do their job, no need to call them.

It's a good job that they are free, I'd be up in arms if I had to pay.

I have to pay a lot for them when I have to order two boxes.

How much?

$309.18 for both boxes each. Transmitter is $610.

How many sensors in each box? Over here you can get similar equipment and it costs about £50.00 for 2 sensors that last 14 days in total. I'm not sure how much it is in $'s, perhaps about $70.00. You do pay a lot for your equipment.

I'm off to bed now because I'm bushed.

Night, night and God bless.

Each box has 1-4 sensors. Free ones= 1 sensor. Paying for sensors=4 sensors.

Gosh, they're expensive.

Can be before the deductible is used up!😀

Oh dear! It seems so unfair when you need this equipment just to ensure that you keep alive and well.

It will be cheaper after the deductible is used up.

I'm not sure how the US health system works. What is the deductible?

It depends on the person and insurance company.
