Statins and Insulin sensitivity

Due to adverse liver function test results, my GP advised me to immediately stop taking Atorvastatin, after a few days I am experiencing hypos and have now reduced my background insulin (Tresiba) by 2 clicks and having less rapid acting insulin (Novorapid). Is this just a coincidence or maybe the statins were causing a decrease in insulin sensitivity and insulin resistance, or could it be related to my liver function.

After a lot of reading, it seems the jury is still out regarding any link between statins and a decrease in insulin sensitivity, has anyone had a similar experience when coming off statins?
