Week 1- Week 2.

So, Completed week one and am part way week two. All is pretty good so far!

Apart from my first jog, last Monday. (this was before I'd heard of Couch25k.) There I was on Monday, surrounded by Easter chocolate.. My boyfriend always goes out Monday evenings to play football, and comes back with the smug 'I've-just-exercised-and-all-you've-done-is-eat-your-body-weight-in-chocolate' face. So I enthusiastically informed him that I too was going to exercise, I was going to jog! (He just smiled at me as we both knew I'm hopeless at jogging.)

So anyway, I left the house with him, and jogged for a while, walked a while, jogged up and down some stairs... (trying to make up for the chocolate binge) I then went down to the beach and jogged along it for a while, but by this point it was pretty dark, so on my way off the beach I stumbled around a little. By the time I'd finished I'd hurt my hip and my foot. Bit of a fail really... I was just like an excited puppy!

The moral of that story is don't go onto the beach at night, without being sensible, health an safety and all that!)

But then I heard of Couch25k, after doing some research on the internet... angels sang, the sun came out. it was a pretty special moment.

After my appalling attempt at jogging on my own, C25k was a breeze! I didn't struggle at all (apart from with my foot.. but I think that just needs a bit of resting and warming up... )

It's also great to be told when to run and when to walk, because usually on my own I'd run till tired then give up. (So after 5 minutes) But I feel really motivated now! Hurrah! :D

I started week 2 on Saturday, and that too felt good... It feels like I could jog for longer. (which is good, as soon I'll have to) But I still have no idea how I'll go for half an hour!!!

But just to force myself to carry this on, and keep up with the work, I've entered into the 10k MoRun in Edinburgh.

So at the moment I can run for 90 seconds... I have until November!! :)

I hope everyone else is doing well!!

Brilliant target to aim for! Just think one week (or even one run) at a time, and it really will happen.

Have you told your boyfriend about the 10k, or are you keeping it as a surprise? :)

Go for it Helen1204! This comes from a woman of 44 who could not run a minute few weeks ago, and NOW after 6 weeks of running/jogging she runs/jogs 25 minutes non-stop! Can you believe it? I can't believe it myself! If I can do it, anyone can! You are so brave to sign for 10K, don't be afraid, you can do it, and you have time. Goodluck with your running!

Hey, well done you!!! That's fantastic!

Thank you for the lovely comment, it's great to be part of the c25k community. I feel so motivated, which I never thought I'd feel towards jogging! Starting week 3 on Saturday. Haha :) :)

Well done! Trust the programme - it really works! I'm like Mini - 43 and couldn't and most definitely wouldn't be out running anywhere. Tonight I ran 25 minutes non stop (albeit very slowly). I'm even think about running on my non-running days. What a change!! My other half comes out with me once a week - it's helped keep me going. Good luck with the 10K :)
