Instead of doing an extra day on week 1 I rested the legs for 2 nights and took the advice of trying week 2 day 1. It went ok was a bit hard going at forst jogging that little bit longer but after the 5 minute warm up and the first 90 second jog. I was ok. My legs aren't nowhere near as achey the day after. My next run is tomorrow night and I have to admit I am enjoying this so much more than I thought I would. 336 days til I do GNR.
Week 2 day 1 done: Instead of doing an extra day... - Couch to 5K
Week 2 day 1 done
Wow, counting down the days already to next year's Great North Run, ONLY 336 days to go, tomorrow that will be only 335, not long at all but you have a little time to get ready for it by running a few parkruns, 10ks, 10 milers, probably these events will be good training for your preparation for the GNR which is only 11 months away on Sunday 8th September 2019
Yeah I got a guaranteed place with a charity thats really close to my heart. I've predominantly done weight training this past 18 months and lost over 5 stone. I now feel capable of running without any joint pain etc due to weight. I have never been a fan of cardio so I thought if i attatched myself to a cause. Then that way I will do cardio more aswell as lose more weight and prep for it all.
Well done on progressing to week 2. 😀
Wow, I've got to admire that attitude, welcome to week 2! Btw, just clocked your name, I don't think we're related though? 😁
I'm aiming for the GNR 5k run on the Sat. Got the bug from my grandson who won the GNR under 17 race and his dad (he just started this yr) who was 31st in the 5k.
My plan is to get under 30 mins if all goes well.
Wk5 rn3 tomorrow.
Its more so determination for me. I started losing weigjt last year i was 20 stone. I am now 15 and half stone and in much better shape than ive ever been. I know cardio needs done more and thought i would challenge myself by attatching a ridiculous goal target and work toward it. Ive given myself plenty of time to achieve it
