I went to do my final run of week 2 today on the treadmill, very quickly I found my knee was hurting and kept giving out, I managed to do some of the runs by shuffling, but then gave up trying to run and walked fast. I am hoping that if I rest for a few days abnd buy a knee brace, I can continue on Wednesday.
Week 2, run 3: I went to do my final run of week... - Couch to 5K

You might find it hurts your knee less if you slow down. I've had knee problems in the past, but have got right through this programme without injury by going really slowly (my running pace is the same as a fast walking pace now - to start with it wasn't even a fast walking pace!). Now I'm beginning to edge the pace up a bit, but if I push too hard I feel it in my knees and have to slow down again. I think it's because I land differently when I'm going faster, and it strains the joint more.
Maybe try some ice as well. If you are having continuous, sharp pain, please don't run, have it checked out. Since you are early on in the program, it may just be muscle tenderness. I wear a light support on my knee when I run, it seems to help keep the niggles at bay. Good luck! Gayle
Thank you for your comments, I did find it easier when I reduced the speed, but I also have hip pain from arthritis, which has also increased since I have been running. I am wondering if the pain in my hip has caused me to over compensate, causing my knee some pain, as it is right hip and right knee.
