Week 2 run 3

Hi, just looking for some advice. I ran yesterday morning at 6:30 am, is it too soon to run this eve at 5pm?

I stRted c25k a few years ago and had an ankle injury, this I got over but then had a knee injury and gave up.

My ankle is “itchy” and I’m worried I will get another injury.

Hi - from what I have read and advise posted by the administrators/others here i would say no - as you have not done a complete rest day. But i am happy to be corrected.

Why not try doing a strength training activity instead, that way you keep active but allow the running muscles to recover?

If your ankle worries you best to leave it and see how it feels tomorrow - only you know if it needs recovery time. Good luck!

Thank you. That is what my head is telling me to do. I think the prob is that not running this eve means I will have 2 days between runs and I get a little panicky about that! I know it’s silly but running is addictive!

I really get you - i'm early in to the program but already feel the need to skip a rest day! and definitely wouldn't want to miss 2 days - but slow and steady wins the race. Its better to do it and be injury free. i hope the ankle holds out

Silly isn’t it, I have to arrange my 3 runs on a 7 day basis due to work and kids, but that always means one of the rests will be 2 days! I need an 8 day week!!

Just read this and still.. don't run... I have two rest days every week.. and sometimes more if things conspire....do some other exercise.... there is plenty of non impact to go at :)

My normal run days are Sunday, Tuesday and Friday... the extra days rest will not impact your style:) x

I’m two weeks post grad and am finding that running every third day is suiting me well (and is sustainable with a busy work/home balance) enjoy the rest days, don’t see them as a punishment, these are the days that our bodies are repairing and making everything strong so we can be successful! ... also, it means I am REALLY ready and excited for each run. Good luck 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Listen to your body..........your ankle is not quite right............you might need an extra rest period, not a shorter one.
