....so I did, this morning. I'm not planning on doing it 'pukka' until September in the Great Yorkshire Run. But the sun was shining on a cold frosty day so after one 5k lap of Rother Valley Lake near Sheffield....I did another one. Yay! Nothing has dropped off and nothing is creaking too alarmingly, although I'm listening to my right knee quite carefully.
That's the knee which gave me gyp on the Samaria Gorge in Crete a few years ago. I felt sure cold beer would help but wasn't sure whether to rub it on or apply internally. texted bro-in-law (a podiatrist) and was advised to apply internally and repeat until feeling no pain. It worked!
I'm not going to do this [impromptu 10K] too often, well, not just yet, but sometimes when it all seems right ya just gotta go for it. And the time? A jolly sooper 57mins 51 secs. I AM determined to keep it below the hour.
