Well, not having run for a week, as knee protested heavily since my last run, last Sunday, I decided that I would run on the treadmill this morning to see how things were. Started off well after the warm up and about 8 mins into run, was feeling a few twinges but y 10 mins, these had gone. The twinges returned again at about 18 min, but were not too bad,and so kept going and made the full 28 mins! Showered the knee in cold water, and applied some Voltarol gel straight after, and as long as I can avoid the stairs, I think I may be ok!
So pleased to get this run out of the way though, and that I could still do it without having done anything for a week was an added bonus. Not very fast though, 2.05 miles (according to the treadmill readout) but not that concerned, as I would rather keep going slow at the moment rather than risk injuring my knee more.
Watch out week 9, here I come!

Well done. I bet you're a happy bunny again now you've had a run.
My advice would be to take extra days rests until knee is properly OK. Having run Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday my knee decided to keep me awake half the night (that's never happened before). So I may go down to 2 runs a week for a while (when my knee's up to it again, of course).
That's great, well done for running for 28 minutes, especially with an achy knee!
Maybe Betty Jane is right, running one day and resting for two could be good. If you were ok on this run, and keep up with your stretches hopefully you will soon be back to normal.
Welcome back, Caro!! I am glad to hear that the knee was a bit more cooperative today!! I think that you are right on about the pace...keep it nice and steady and make sure that your knee is not injured again!! One more week!!! You are almost there!!!! Keep Running!!!!
Knee now starting to complain, especially if it is not moving for a few minutes!! funny that it is ok when running, but starts hurting once it is rested. Perhaps I need to run more (though doubt the rest of the body would agreee!!) Seeing physio later in the week for elbow, so may mention knee........
