So...after going to sleep last night having talked myself out of a run today -too much rubbish eaten, not enough water drink, too tired etc...I got up and ran this morning. I’m not going to lie, it was bloody tough. But I did it and I am sooooo glad I did. I ran down to Cardiff bay and the Barage and started back still running to complete W8R3. It’s been my hardest week I think, I was thinking this as I ran. Last week after about 10-15 mins I felt like I could go for miles, this week I’ve argued with myself for every minute of each run! Anyway, week 9 looms and today I was wondering what to do then. I don’t really enjoy the running itself, but I love the after run feeling. I will miss Sarah gently encouraging me on!
Week 8 complete!: So...after going to sleep last... - Couch to 5K
Week 8 complete!
Great job dragging yourself out there and getting the job done. After week 9 some consolidation is recommended, so Sarah and you can have a little longer together! I switched to Nike guided runs and i have in ear coaching if that’s the bit you’re going to miss... otherwise all the tracking apps will keep you updated as to how long or far is left. It’s ok to be finding it a little tougher, the runs are still being pushed up week on week, and consolidation will stop that for a little while. So, into your victory lap now... enjoy.
Oh how fabulous! I’ll enjoy consolidating with Sarah! It is the in ear coaching, I really need that voice in my ear. I’ve signed up for a 10k wolf run in sept with my husband and all his work mates so I need to build on this once consolidation is done. Thanks
If you need coaching Nike run club is all free, and their guided runs would cover you all the way through the magic 10k plan on the bridge to 10k forum here.
Ok that’s great. Thank you
I also totally recommend NRC guided runs, they are what helped me going after graduation.
You’ve got it, week 9 is the home stretch
Thank you. Although week 8 has been hard and unpleasant, I know I can run two more minutes. It’s mind over matter now. I’m on holiday the week after graduation and worried I’ll lose my ability if I don’t run for 5 days!!!
Great, you ran round the bay - did you set the speed trap off?- I tried to when I was cycling there.
Well done! i too have just completed week 8 run 3. I'm still amazed when I think back to the first time I only just managed to run 90 seconds!! Fingers crossed we both graduate next week!
