Hi all, this is my first post. I am due to start week 8 tonight. I feel like it should be fairly comfortable as it is only 3 minutes more than last weeks runs, does anyone have any advice though?
PS up until now i have been running exclusively on a treadmill. I want to run outdoors but i have a few historic problems with my knee so i am frightened of aggravating this. Is running on a treadmill and not going outdoors cheating?

Many people seem to prefer the all-weather convenience of a treadmill and it’s certainly not cheating, but think of the scenery and vitamin D you’re missing ! If your knees are a worry, look for somewhere you can run on softer surfaces such as grass, rather than pounding the pavement. All the best with week 8 - we know you can do it !
Treadmill is certainly not cheating! I've done most of my 7.5 weeks on the treadmill with just a couple of runs outside. There are plenty of articles on the differences and it does affect the way you run certainly, also there is no direct correlation between the speed you run on the treadmill and the speed you run outside. The general advice seems to be to set the treadmill incline at1% to replicate the air resistance when running outside but other than that I think the aerobic benefits are the same. My knees get sore when running outside for long periods and I dont like running on grass because it is generally very uneven.
As for week 8 - you'll have no problem have completed week 7. Keep it slow and steady as usual and you'll crush it. w8r2 for me later today!
Thanks Becky. I must say i struggled with R1 last night, think i may have got too complacent in my own head. At no point was i out of breath or anything, just my legs felt really heavy and i kept thinking that i would not be able to finish it. I powered through though and managed to finish it, hope runs 2 and 3 are a bit smoother for me!
well done for powering through. I get that heavy leg thing sometimes and then my mind wanders and I'm ok? I definitely think our brains are our own worst enemies sometimes. hope you get on okay with the rest of the week. I'm only 1 run ahead of you
