This morning I did the last run of week 7. I struggled a little bit, but never for a moment did I think I would have to stop and completed the run fine. Had to slow the heck right down when I got an attack of heart burn half way through – that was not pleasant! But plodded along okay after that (at a VERY SLOW pace), but I managed a slight sprint for the last 1 minute at the suggestion of the lovely Jo. Lord only knows how I mustered that!
Had a lovely stretching session when I got home, and did some additional knee strengthening exercises too, as I want my knees to hold up. Boiled egg on toast post-run treat and the best hot shower ever. Worth running in the morning for the rewards of breakfast and a hot shower alone!
Added bonus: as I staggered in wearing my nicest run tights and a vest, my boyfriend said the nicest thing. He told me my body looked really athletic now! I have not lost one pound in weight, but I do feel more toned all over. Given that he (unwittingly) upset me a few weeks back by saying that maybe running wasn't for me (after I moaned that my legs were aching), he has redeemed himself. He also praised me for running for 25 minutes; I think he is genuinely impressed now.
Hope you all have a lovely run today, if it is your run day, and if not – rest up and look forward to your next run!

Oh lord yes, misswobble, I am definitely doing this for me! And it has never been about improving my body, that's for sure. I am doing this for heart and lung health and to address some mild depression I had been having. It has really helped with my mood, which is so much more chipper and even now. Thank you for your support! I love this running community. x
It sounds like you have it all going on! Woohoo! Running is fun, well maybe not at first 😎
Running can take you out of yourself. You can go for a run and get completely lost in it. You come to and find you've been running without even thinking about it 🙂 It makes you sleep better, tone up, have more strength. Your puff gets better and better the more you run. Just go steady though, which the great thing about the programme 😃
Blushing now, Oldfloss, you are too kind! I think BF has finally spotted my running glow. I am SO enjoying those longer runs. Still very hard, but it is interesting – and part of that is observing my pace, finding that rhythm, appreciating my body for what it can do – thanks to C25K! x
Thanks MC! I love a boiled egg on toast – best thing for refuelling after a run. Hope you are doing well and enjoying your runs again. You were one of my earliest inspirations on this journey! x
Great work - I just finished the same run! I thought I'd have to stop too as I was getting a stitch but it went away - hurrah!
I've lost precisely 1lb which is rather underwhelming but I guess things take a while to shift for some of us! (bah!) Things are firming up so something good is happening!
Well done, Nicky! Never mind about losing weight, think about how strong you are getting! STRONG.
Stitches = ugh! I was genuinely upset when mine came on, as I really did not want to stop. Had to slow to almost walking pace until it abated. Wonder if the blueberries I had before running caused it?
Good luck to you too for week 8! I plan to do the first run on Sunday. x
