I am in W6 and wondered if my running could be classified as running because it is so slow but I then i read the main aim is to finish the programme then over time concentrate on increasing the speed of running. So last night i decided that i would celebrtae the progress i have made and not beat myself for my slow running style. Everything i read suggests it it a progressive gain ..You will get there! Enjoy the fact that you are in week 6 and haven't given up!

I graduated last week and am managing 5K but it takes me about 40 minutes. I'm not worried about the time. I think back to week 1 when I struggled with 20 seconds.

Celebrate what you have achieved, it's a massive achievement. We can't all be hares, there has to be some tortoises amongst us. I am definitely a tortoise..... but I love it :o)

Well done and enjoy being a runner.

Completely agree with the above posts. I'm never tempted to run any faster because I'm worried I won't complete the distance and keep telling myself to get the distance then work on my speed. Good luck to you all.

Forget the distance for now. Most of us don't manage 5k in 30 mins. It gives you something to aim for after you graduate. Running for 30 minutes will be an enormous achievement when you get there, one victory at a time!
